RE: Critters!
It's been VERY weird only having one pet. It's all balanced out now.
He's FIV+, has a wonky eye, two cracked teeth, chirps like a bird, and purrs like someone's idea of a purr. He's fucking perfect.

RE: Critters!
My cats are getting along after a month of being around one another. There's mutual grooming and as of yesterday - laying in a cuddle puddle of cat.
Brahms is the void with the clipped ear.
Sagan is the slightly miffed blue fellow for interrupting the moment for wordless aww-ing and picture-taking.

RE: MU Things I Love
A decent ending for a not-always decent guy.
Good death, would do it again. Definitely.

RE: MU Things I Love
Considering the beautiful blaze of a dumpster fire that life was this week - the RP has been grand.

Turning something that happens in game that could be taken negatively as an positively amazing plot opportunity that starts to build itself.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Various peeves have turned me into a grump.
I just want to scream in a forest somewhere. Then, take a nap.

RE: MU Things I Love
Playing someone largely clueless and mildly skeptical makes me weirdly happy today.

RE: The Work Thread
Three years with this company. No true promotions -- only lateral moves. Biding time until I start to notice money-saving measures in terms of staff and space. So, I think, time to start searching. Two weeks later. Potential face to face interview this week with new company with a less intense work culture. Also, would be working with strangers -- not my friends. Because I'm starting to resent them. Away from social media and real estate agents. Because it's tiring. I hope I get it.
Edit: Didn't. I sort of turned into a human version of Kermit the Frog when I realized it was going to be four people interviewing me all at once.
So it goes.

Nurses that know how to draw blood properly are the most amazing individuals.

Lowest effort: cereal.
Some effort: Fried egg.I've also just grabbed a block of emotional support cheese and that was it.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
My input. Mixed ethnicities. Surname sounds like a one that matches my pale-ass skin and hooded eyes - but it's Middle Eastern.
My great grandmother in Puerto Rico was Taino. All eight of my great aunts looked like her. So does my grandma. My grandmother married a fellow from Spain.
My mother is and looks Puerto Rican -- she calls herself Nuyorican because she and every cousin in that generation were all first generation born New Yorkers. Some of them married into a Filipino family with an excess of brothers. So many cousins. My nieces are a gorgeous - glorious mix of both sides of the family.
Then me. I am me. Pale and awkward about my background. I can't dance. I can't tan. I can't speak either language my mother nor my father speak. I've been told: "That I'm white enough to pass."
Which makes me angry, always, because I am not. And there's a kind of dysphoria (is that the right word) attached to that.
But then I need to acknowledge that there's privilege there.
It's weird.
Ultimately, I play characters that are opposite of who and what I am because I can.

RE: RL things I love
Worked my first whole week at a new job that doesn't make me wanna gouge my eyes out. Also, from my desk I can see the little fortress of web dev on the horizon and I think -- soon. Not today, but soon. For now? Head down, nose clean, eyes straight and workworkwork and practice practice practice.

So much enjoyment writing with those who use a wildly different style than I do. (I don't mind flowery prose. I like it.) The way that others play with their words. Puns, wordplay, purple or hyper-descriptive. It encourages me. Sure, I have a thesaurus open - but they're having fun.

Time to whip out the obvious joke:
