@lotherio this sounds interesting.
So I am going ask since this is an alt earth: can I legitimately play a black/alt African person that doesn't have a contrived story as to how they got to not-Italy?
(I ask because I got told once on a game that I couldn't because it meant they had to explain where they would have came from.)
Personally I'd be on board with a game that drew from say 7th Sea, or a Alternative History, with magic.
Games that Appeal to players:
Maybe a Solid Final-Fantasy-esque game with out /being set in any of the FF Worlds, but drawing heavily from them?
For what it is worth, post book time line: with both White & Black towers ( or some new combined towers?)
I think having Rand & Co. Adventures be over is a great thing.
Or just state things have gone very differently in this world.
@Merit
Can Fate have more than one aspect? ( But yeah My dreams of a Fae game, with winged 'normal sized' people Fae are coming TRUE!) & Bonds? YES ( Are you sure you're not inside my head?
So if fae are not born (in the human sense), combining essenaces to produce new fae-- happens how? Over a flower? some rituals? Something ( though that Tinkerbell vibe I kind of like, that reproduction isn't sex , and pregnancy, and blood, sweat and tears)
How does Fae and Human civilization interact? Do they?
Do Unknown clans become 'known' once enough of them are born?
Can unknown clans pop back up from two Fae of Known clans? (If Mother is Fire and Father is Water Aspected, , can the child be Sun or Moon? ( ATLA/ATLK references).
Are Fae Monarichal? Modern Fae Civilzation means what exactly? In comparison to 'old Fae civilzation?
Are humans a known 'thing'?
Does Travel to the Pale Pearl, mean ssomething specific?
Also do I sense a Pacific Islander vibe in the language choice? (My first thought is Polynesian, but I could be wrong it be Maori or something I am not familiar with), which I like, immensely?
Fae of different skin and hair colors are a plus.
I suppose for me in a Fantasy MU* I don't want to play a brutal, harsh theme that has no hope of changing because my character and others work for it.
(I know a guy on an IRC channel that builds settings similar to Dark Sun, very dark, very harsh and pretty much wants to make the players 'understand ' ( his view point). And for me, I go play fantasy to get away from the doom and gloom of everyday life.
I think its just something you want to take into account. Building a game, that rewards players chances to struggle, and surivive and gain a foot hold, and then a handhold, until they climb that mountain!
I suppose its the difference between playing a Setting like Dark sun & something brighter.
As someone who has purchased the ' 5th Edition by FFG, I agree a MU* is hard, the culture's 'hard' rules are part of the draw, but culturally in MU* trying to enforce what the character would know via training and culture would be hard to enforce.
But it would be a lovely world to play in, if you drew from the wealth of 4th edition (extraneous information), but used 5e timeline & cultural reference) would be great.
The downside is that you have to have a good player base to keep the correct cultural feel, but I kind of love the idea of being able to sit and sip tea, or talk mystical philosphy.. or travel be a horse-girl (because you know Unicorns are best! But then so are the Crane)

The Mastery effect may not be in play, as this appears to be 2.0, and I think I read you can only haz 1 mastery ever until you hit Gnosis
Ah yes, I'd forgotten that detail. All the better. Let's people get in their favorite arcana mastery but keeps them from god moding with multiple masteries. Definitely a perk.
Agreed in that case. Looks like I'll need to spend that 20.00 on the new book.
I think taking the rules as present in the book and simplifying them a bit might be the best, I mean I LOVE the world, but some of the rulles are CLUNKY.
Also how do we deal with the Ego & Morph seperation in the rules? ( Are we talking Firan-levels of Godcode, to make that work?)

You might be able to do a variation of my "every character is permanently on the roster and you just get to play them for as long as your logged in" idea. Players can have one character that is solely theirs. All non-exclusive characters (let's call the exclusive ones Feature Characters) are permanently on the roster and anyone can take them for a spin on a given night; however, they can only take non-FCs that belong to their FCs organization/house or non-FCs that are unaffiliated.
I am not a fan of this idea.
I do not like Rosters, because while it can create 'consistancy', (who is related to whom etc), it makes me feel like the character isn't mine, and that.. irks me.
I also don't like that you have to take character that are non-FCs belonging to their FC's organization.
What happens if Player A comes in after all the things they'd be interested in are gone? Do they just not play?
I mostly read on my tablet for RP books , though I do own the hard copy of 1e Awakening, maybe I'll do it, maybe I'll get 2e & the hard back.
Also are we going to be in a single massive City? (ala Firan style)? So we can have the glitzy and glam of Mars' Glitteratti and the Rusty Outback?
Good choices.
I would say that don't make it too world War II analogus only because we want people to be real people not good or evil because the are on the Axis or Allies labeled sides.
Maybe make Corona a kind of puppet ish kingdom of Arrendelle? Like they keep their heads of states (HoS) and the traditions and Arrendelle doesn't freeze them into a Colony.
The dragons I like. Dragons are probably influenced when young to be ice or fire & crews are kinda bound to a dragon because without how do you control a creature? I like the idea of metal armor for them.
But where is the.... MU* link so we can all swarm and join and be AWAESOME!
Why Luna? Reclaimer Quests? Are we sure we wanna have this be just world diving? I mean nothing wrong with adventuering but what about Hyper corp intrige? Or sucession or wars?
Not sure about the Nilponali (Nilponali cali without the c) it's too high tech for this world. Even if you were to scale it away down. Perhaps just Corona, Arrendelle and leave the rest of the map.... Blank ish like there are other countries but not too much info. Though we definately need to Emphasise that both Arrendelle and Corona have populations of non white looking people and its not weird ( as some who plays black characters because she I black this is one of those weird moments of wtf when I suddenly realize that I have no space for people like me. So ( theoretical animal shifters from Not Africa?}

At least that's how humans tell it. To the Animals complete bullshit: They choose to help the 'helpless twolegs cause they would DIE without their help.)

Build a base Set of powers that all Vampire have ( with some flavor tweaks:

Blood Bind- for grooming mortals as fancy servants for ones self, or others, also makes them loyal to you. (though there are 'general binds' which make them loyal to the house, but you know, doesn't break 'selfpreservation'.
Intriguing. So where do the Bennett gesseritt/New Sisterhood types and cool Psionic powers come in. Tribal Great mother's who guide their sons and daughters with silk hiding steeling. Sons who are traded and arranged for marriages. Women who war and dance for the dead.
