Has anyone found a client/settings combo that will let you use color 256 with Windows 10? I use potato, newest version, and my roommates can see color in Arx fine on Windows 8, but I only get 16 colors on Windows 10.

My initial googling has found a few instances of other people complaining about it but no real leads, yet. edit: I have run the compatibility troubleshooter and attempted to make it work in both windows 7 and 8 mode. Bleh.

@Kanye-Qwest This will be only marginally helpful... But I use potato and can get 256 colors. Problem is I can't explain what you need to do, exactly. Something with an xterm or setting a particular attribute. Hopefully someone else can explain the specifics, but this is just me saying it can be done.

@Warma-Sheen Are you on windows 10 with the latest version of potato, just for clarification? Seems like previous versions of potato are fine on 10, and newest version of potato is fine on anything but 10.

Have you or @Kanye-Qwest asked at the Potato forums et al.?

@Thenomain Put in a bug report ticket a little bit earlier on that github run by that Potato developer, though I figure might be a while before I hear back. If @Warma-Sheen managed to get it working I'll definitely try to tinker with it but I don't have windows 10 on my box so I can't reproduce it myself.

Yeah, I have no idea... probably a previous version.

I use MUSHclient. It works fine.
You'd have to set yourself xterm256 to have the colors work. This is on PennMUSH anyway.

I just tested... just to clarify, if I do ansi(xx xx xx,Test) it'll not work. If I do asni(<hex>, test) it'll come through just fine.

Windows 10, latest version. Potato, latest version.

Tehom has fixed it! He found an issue with syntax in the telnet control strings being sent. And a bunch of other stuff, I feel like maybe he broke three things to fix this one, but I have pretty colors! Thanks for suggestions!
