    • RE: Ixokai

I used to joke with Ixi that he and others were my filter to MSB because I'd never log in here, so he'd let me know when there were new and interesting games opening up that we could go check out together. He was a light in my life, and we were there for one another through a lot of things. He was far too young for the health issues that he suffered, and he was taken quite suddenly when just last week the prognosis was that he'd gotten out of the ICU and off the ventilator, and they were going to get him up and walking around, and discharge was in his future. For him to just be gone yesterday morning was and is devastating. He was passionate, in all things -- from those things he loved to the things he would vehemently argue against. What started as a funny and awkward IC encounter one year on a game that's long been closed, became one of the deepest and closest connections in my life over the passing years. I am grateful for all the conversations we had, projects we worked on, and stories we've told. I've spent some time over the past day reading over our last scenes together, our last conversations together, and some of the happiest ones. He's always going to be in my heart.

A couple of us are in contact with his roommate but as of this morning there are no definitive plans yet. Once we know more, we'll let the community know if there's anything that he and Ixi's family might need.

@Botulism I run The Network. I was Technician/Beast on HorrorMU. If you wanted to reboot Horror on Ares, that's something I could help with since I run Network on Ares. I took a lot of inspiration from the stuff I liked about Horror when creating Network.

I'd like to see Horror continue, personally, and would happily come back. I miss Beast and would love to continue playing him. Horror and Network are not the same game. Horror is genre specific. Network is not. They have different metas for between-stories that have some very distinct similarities but also some differences. Even though I was staff on Horror, I was never privvy to what "the real story" was as to what was going on. So I don't know /how/ similar their metas might actually be, but in my mind they are different.

As an aside, I pretty much never log into MSB or read it, but someone pointed this message out to me so I popped on to say hi.

We'll leave it up for a bit for people to decompile anything they want to keep, wrap up some things that they wanted to wrap up, and we will be taking it down after a little while. I agree with Tangent and others. It's not coming back for good. It crashed the day he passed, and we'll let it rest. But not until after one last little bit so that those who lost things suddenly can have a chance to collect the things they created there.

For any others who may have had games running on Theorem's server, there is a small chance I may be able to recover them. Reach out to me privately if so.

The address that TNP posted is the new permanent home of the game and the DNS should be working at this point: esh.mugames.org 7000

The old database is also back up on the old server, in case anyone lost stuff from the 2nd and would like to recover it and move it to the new database. (If you need help, hit me up on the game and I will help move things.)

The old database is up at: 208.113.128.243 port 7000

      Thanks
