Ok... So I'll give this a shot. I know this is probably my first post here, but its mostly because I haven't had much to say and frankly I'm still a bit concerned about having my head taken off. I've been a right prick in the past and I'm sure that if I'm remembered at all, it's probably not for a good reason, but hey... I'll take my lumps. I've been a part of the community since 1992, though there have been times in between where I hadn't done much of anything. I'll put characters in the list if I remember them, if not I'll just list the games. I'm sure that there are some that I'll forget totally. This 43-year-old swiss cheese brain is sure to loose things as I go. I'll try to go chronologically.

TOS and TNG Trekmuse - Atreides
RobotechMUSH? Some Robotech game from the early 90's - Atreides (see a theme here?)
      DuneMUSH - Shishakli
Star Wars MU* (The first one) - Woods
      The Damned/Dark Gift
      Babylon 5 BDaL
Brave and the Bold - Jared Harris, Victor Stone
      BuffyMu*
      DuneIII - Mintor Atreides
      Mutant High - Jonah (Phong)
      Anomaly TrekMUX - Crayn
      Mystick Krewe - Donny Winters
      Devilshire - Donny Winters
Lantern Hill (and it's other incarnations under a few different names) - Donny Winters
HeroesMUSH - Morgana and various alts through the different inceptions.
      Wicked Things/Dark Things - Elliot
WItchcraft & Wizardry - Nymera, Marius, Victoria
      Covenant of the Slayer
Age Of Heroes MUX - Fairchild, Hawkgirl, Kate Bishop, Blink
STF - I played a roster character for, like, 1 scene. Random coffee shop fare. I forgot their name.
Marvel 1963 - Stature, Roulette.. possibly others.
      Battlestar Orion - I was a marine...
      Kushiel's Debut
Brave New World - Kate Bishop, Jesse Quick, Mary Marvel, Kitty Pryde, (Heliotrope)
      CoMux - Oliver Queen
      Arx - Briseis, Amantha

      Current:
      Calaveras - Kris, Marcus, Alex
Sometimes A Great Notion - Hyland

      (Staff alts in parentheses)

I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of others. Wikidot is down right now so I can't check my profile. I've been away from the hobby for a bit over a year now. I'm getting the itch to dive back in. I'm not sure though. Thanks for the time.

    • RE: Bloopers

I can think of a blooper now. During the last World Series I had been trading comments/zingers with other Red Sox fans and some really cool Dodgers fans. Now there’s a player on the Dodgers named Kike (kee-kay) Hernandez. His first name is really Enrique. So when he was up at bat, I put this up on pub.

      <Public> Kris says, “Kike, we don’t love you.. <blah> <blah> <blah>.”

It was supposed to be a punny play-on-words that went along with that Drake song that kids were getting run over for. It wasn’t until someone, who wasn’t following the game, asked for clarification that I double-checked and saw what else it could be interpreted as. I was mortified and apologized profusely to everyone on the channel before disconnecting and fully expecting to see something from staff the next time I logged in.

The scene was epic and it was appreciated. Everyone involved did an awesome job. It's nice to find a place, after being on hiatus for so long, that was welcoming and doesn't go big on the OOC drama. Thanks again for the scene.

    • How to start?

I know I've been away from the hobby for a while, and perhaps the culture has changed a bit but how exactly does one go about getting into an actual scene that isn't a +event nowadays? I was able to get a character approved through chargen, but I've yet to have an actual scene. It looks like anyone who's not in a specific scene on the grid is just hanging out in the OOC Room. I know that bar/coffee shop RP is boring and frowned upon, but how are debut scenes supposed to happen? I remember back to times where people idled on the grid, but now it appears to happen in the OOC Room. I know I should throw out a "Scene anyone?" line, but most of those seem to get frowned upon and considered needy. Am I just reading things the wrong way?

    • RE: What's your nerd origin story?

Like a good bit here ( @Roz, @Auspice, etc.), I was born into it. Or perhaps you can say I was brought into it. My mom wasn't much of a nerd, being a single mom in the late 70's she mostly worked, which is where she met my Step-Dad. He was the nerd. We had an Atari 2600 when I was 5, regularly watched old Star Trek re-runs and saw every Star Wars movie whenever they came on the TV (which was a rarity growing up). He loved to play strategy games, though he couldn't quite get into D&D. I'd gone through my dad's collection of old books and read everything written by Tom Clancy, and then stumbled upon Frank Herbert's last 2 Dune books. I didn't go full-throttle into nerd-dom until I started to become more independent in high school. The city library was on the way to school every day, so I started reading every book I could find in their Science Fiction section. It all started with 'Dune' and exploded from there. Asimov, Pohl, Dick, I grew up with all the "classics". Then once I was fully on my own, it just went on from there.

@wizz Gasp!! You've discovered Steam Powered Giraffe!!! That one's definitely a tear-jerker. This one isn't so much of one but it's super-inspiring.

@wizz My niece turned me onto them a couple years ago. They go around and perform concerts at conventions and such and they're totally family-friendly.

@Ghost I still remember the first time I saw her on NXT. I was still fawning over Alexa Bliss, and then I saw Becky in her feud with Sasha Banks and she definitely made me take notice. Now she's done it to the whole Universe.

@Ghost Has he done this since Wrestlemania? I don't think it's something that he's going back to. I think it was just a throwback and an excuse to use it against Elias. At least, I sincerely HOPE he's not doing the whole Thuganomics thing for real because... yeah... Jump The Shark... We all know his WWE career is going the way of The Rock's and Batista's anyways, but why end it on such a burning-car-wreck note?

@Ghost Yeah, I saw one of those "My Son Is A Pro Wrestler" bits. Strowman's a good dude. They showed his parents and where he first started working, etc. He comes from a small town. The typical local-boy-does-good story.

@Ghost I think she's nursing an injury that they're not telling us about. I'd say to check her out in about another 6 months to see if she's back for in-ring or if they're just going to keep her as a personality/valet. I don't think she's ready to leave the WWE just yet, but I'm not sure why she's been staying out of ring action.

@Ghost Just keep it away from Charlotte. I'm kinda done with the Flair grand-standing right now. Let Rhonda keep hold of the title until Extreme Rules or something.

Also, if folks are tired of the corporate-ness of the WWE, I strongly recommend taking a good long look at AEW. Cody and the Young Bucks have filled the roster with a TON of indie talent.
