Let's talk about TS.
-
@pondscum It's almost like discussion threads are opt-in or something.
-
@tinuviel If you want to TS, go forth and TS. If you don't, don't. It's not rocket science.
-
@pondscum No, it's social interaction. Which is just as hard to navigate.
-
@tinuviel I usually say what I really think. A great mistake nowadays. It makes one so liable to be misunderstood.”
― Oscar Wilde -
The difference being that Wilde thought. And usually listened to conversations before butting in.
-
-
@tinuviel I respectfully butt out.

@cobaltasaurus No, I meant that action/adventure/casual/etc are all decent TS categories.
To get back to the subject at hand, you didn't mention the glorious part where you could mix these up. Mystery adventure TS!
-
@kay Eh, I don't want to RP the same as my actual life.
-
@tinuviel said in Let's talk about TS.:
Do we really need a coded 'system' for this?
We're adults, we can have conversations. You were actually the best at this. I mean, as far as demonstrating 'those' kinds of conversations in an MU environment, I'd never encountered such forthright, well-mannered, 'Okay so this and this and this and we're good, right? ALRIGHT GO' and it really did set my own mindset as far as, what people needed to discuss if a scene went that way to ensure everyone was on the same page and could have a good time with it.
It -also- demonstrated to me that people who -ignored- my 'pre-game questions' were either RPing for the wrong reasons, or weren't going to respect what I wanted from the story and the scene and could act accordingly.

@vulgarkitten Or 'omfg I don't TS and everyone in this room wants to fuck me shit shit shit RUN FOR THE HILLS'.
You wouldn't see their interest unless you expressed yours, too.
I read that as 'exposed'. I need to get out of this thread.
-
@sincerely It probably helped that I was playing a character that would innately DO all of those things. At least how I played him. So it wasn't an immersion break, like some may find, to set out those things from the beginning in such a direct way.
Though it may also come down to having to set standards and guidelines for people as part of my job, it's just second nature I guess.

I find myself a little put off by sexual interests and such in ooc formats. It feels..weirdly player intimate, to me. When I do TS, to be frank, it's not really about gratification for ME. It's about the characters. I'm fine with a quick "this is the level of language I'm comfortable with, this is a hard FTB point/event for me", etc, but like a browsable list of wants and less-wants is decidedly not my jam.
-
@kanye-qwest My interests are everything not on your list.
Everything.

Yeah, I would hard pass on any non-sex game that had detailed code/policy support for sex stuff.
-
@sunny Code, yes. Policy? Eh. "TS is OOC-consent required. Ignoring the OOC requests of persons regarding this content will result in a permanent ban."
-
Yup. Thus the word 'detailed'.
-
@sunny That's plenty detailed! Just not intimate, because I FTB on policy talk.

You make it very hard to stay constructive sometimes.
-
@sunny Thank you.
