When you know that you can throw a complete curve ball at another player's character and that they'll catch it and run with it. Damn do I love players like that and it makes for some of the most spontaneous, engaging and fun scenes.

RE: Critters!
This is Mabel. She's my Tibetan Terrier terror and has just turned one year. She's currently asleep draped across the back of my neck on the sofa. For some reason her breed demands they always get up on things!
And this is Mabel and Gus (my ginger ninja) on squirrel (and pigeon, rabbit, crow, anything-that-moves) garden watch. They make a great good cop/bad cop team.

What hellish games do you people play on? NPC's are plot facilitators, nothing more.

Fear and Loathing
FEAR AND LOATHING: 138.197.94.50 8000 / www.fandlmux.com
Fear and Loathing is a Las Vegas based nWoD game using 1e theme and GMC rules. The game approaches the Storyteller and MU system a bit different than most games. Staff do not run metaplot - the game is a player-centric game. Staff are purely OOC in function: they approve characters, handle XP spends, set notes, handle +jobs, approve theme and story ideas (see below), and otherwise keep the game running. For this reason, staff are not restricted in what Spheres or IC positions they can play in, but they cannot approve their own characters or handle their own +jobs.
Being player-centric means that staff encourage players to be Storytellers and make plots using the setting and theme provided. They also encourage them to BUILD on it, add to it, and help it grow. In a way it's a sandbox game - a sandbox for the players. You decide what you want to do, and staff just keep the toys clean and functioning. To facilitate this, they have eased a number of the restrictions you commonly see on other games regarding PRPs (player run plots), and have added incentives to encourage inclusion and co-operation. Whilst PRPs are looked over before they go live, it's only to make sure nothing gets out of hand or too crazy. Staff want to be a game that finds reasons to say 'Yes' rather than 'No'. They also allow for several different types of character that other games do not, including transfers.
At this time the game is accepting Vampire: the Requiem, Changeling: the Lost, Changing Breeds, Immortal, and many Mortal+ templates. It's open and ready to go - come check it out!

The name of the thread does indeed have the word bitch in it. Is that symptomatic of the sexist culture in which our language developed? Yep.
It's probably unrelated but I dislike the name of the "RL anger" thread.
There are many, many things that peeve, annoy or disappoint me about real life that I don't feel anger towards. Anger is a strong word.
Sunday night/Monday morning some thieving scumbags forced an entry to my garden and stole patio furniture that we got for an anniversary present. Also took as many garden tools as they could carry (some of which belonged to my mother who died 3 years ago and thus were of great sentimental value), and our barbecue. We reported it to the police, but they said we'd probably never see it again, and gave us an incident number.
So I went out and around where I live today, asking people I met if anyone had been trying to flog some wicker patio furniture, and amazingly one girl I know from walking our dogs said, oh huh, is it white and so big by so big, and are you missing a barbecue too? If so, it's in this lock up shed over where I live.
I ran all the way there, and yup... was all my stuff. So snapped some pics through the shed slats on my phone, rang police and sat on the ground in front of the door for three solid hours until police came. I was so ANGRY that some fucking nasty shitbags had done this that I was fully ready to stop them moving it someplace else. It was so satisfying when they busted the place open and got my stuff out.
RL ANGER!!

RE: Housing UK?
Best idea would be to go through a regulated site. https://www.spareroom.co.uk/ is one of the better ones here in the UK and very widely used by students and professionals alike. Good luck.

RE: The All-New Down With OPP Thread
The only character of Gany's that I can remember with clarity and that I had reason to have my own character involved with (he offered to fund her work) was a Nossie sharky vamp that smelt like dead fish/chum. Most of the time my character was fighting the urge to hurl when within his vicinity and it would have required a strong stomach to even want to flirt with that.

@Cadi I particularly liked The ABC murders. It's another Poirot.

RE: L&L Options?
@Ganymede It is very much open and active, with a nice community of players. We're more story focused than reliant upon coded play.

RE: Random funny
With NPR heavily used, and police able to issue fines for number plates being dirty and unreadable, yes, this is indeed a genuine (and serious) reason to fail a car its MOT. The car wouldn't have been charged for its re-test, but the tester would have had to contact the owner and get permission to replace the bulb (as it's an expense), before issuing the pass certificate.
We English, we're just so crazy like that!

RE: Recycling characters
I don't have any problem with recycling characters. One of my favourites was a baby gangrel vamp called Rue. She started out on Fallcoast, and when that closed and RP dried up, I moved her over to Reno (v.1). She was there for a bit, but people I played with melted away, so she hiked on over to Fallcoast. There were still stories I wanted to explore with her.
