Name a MU
-
So, any principles or guidelines for naming a MU?
Suggestions for a 'The Magicians' themed one's name?

Start talking in the enjoyable voice of your choosing (with an image you associate to be the scene you wanted to have when you made the MUSH, if it applies).
The voice you enjoy should somehow match the game's essence, the one the original project creator planned for it.

Why can't you just called it "Magicians MUX'? Names don't need to be fancy. Nobody is going to remember the flowery version. If the name tells people what it is that will be enough to draw them in. In a crowded field with multiple other MU*s like World of Darkness then you should use a unique name but if you're the only game in town... flaunt it.

@il-volpe imo name it something that is related or relevant to the source material, and something you want to focus on that is illustrative of the theme. Like Brakebills for example.

....The one thing I took away from this was "Wait, there's a Magician's MU happening?!?OH, ME! Pick me! ME ME ME!"
I don't care what you call it(though I do like the suggestion @TheOnceler made), just TELL ME WHEN IT OPENS, PLZ.

@aria If you* have suggestions for theme elements etc I want to hear them. (No guarantee I'll do anything with them, but I've a lot of gaps to fill.)

@il-volpe It's been awhile since I've watched the show and I unfortunately think I left my books in South Carolina when I was there visiting my RP bestie for his fun-tervention, so I'm a little rusty, BUT....
I really love the dichotomy between the 'urban fantasy' feel of the real world +magic and the high fantasy feel of Fillory, so anything that emphasizes that being forced to switch back and forth between what seems imaginary and your 'real' life is A++ in my book. Also, as someone who loves the Acanthus from nWoD Mage and the original, unsanitized fairy tales, particularly those from Slavic countries, and Pratchett's "Lords and Ladies"..... I like the fact that the fairies are just dicks. Like, all the time. No cute Amy Brown winged pixies with a stocking fetish, but just 100%, all the time operating on rules and logic no one else gets and that makes them pretty much just awful.

Filling in for Fillory.
