    • RE: Regarding administration on MSB

I think that people who think all of MSB is just a trashcan fire are going to keep thinking all of MSB is a trashcan fire, no matter the moderation. People that post confrontational, asshole-ish things are going to keep posting that.

What really concerns me is us in the middle. I shared a RL story in the Hog Pit on a thread. It was a hard RL story to share, because it is shit that people rarely talk about because we're conditioned not to, but it was relevant to the discussion. I was met with a moderator saying not to share RL stories on the thread. I have no way of knowing if she was speaking as just another poster or as a moderator.

But man, it struck me wrong, guys. Not because I dislike @Auspice. Not because she was moderating. There is no clarity. There's no sense of that being done for the community. It was bad mojo.

    • RE: MU Things I Love

going to go do something to maintain notes on a thing and finding out someone already did it and did it better than I could have.

I especially love it because I think it is because they are excited about this thing, that I hooked them into, and that is just lovely.

(Yes, this also turned into a humble brag. sorry not sorry.)

    • RE: How to put an end to whisper game attacks?

@surreality My constructive advice would be to no longer engage with these people. Block them from your view and life. I doubt the whisper campaigns will end, but you cannot do anything really about that, except trust that either people will be smart enough to approach you to find out you side of the story or that they aren't worth your time, either.

For what it is worth, I have not heard you shit-talk or disclose anything about anyone. I have also not heard any whisper campaigns about you, but I also am not friends with the type of people that would start whisper campaigns.

Just as an update! Auspice has made it as far as Colorado, alive and well! I cut my finger to pieces cleaning for her. We are ordering pizza; I am going to fill up her tank in the morning.

      All is good!

    • RE: Regarding administration on MSB

I think it's unhelpful to assume that we're stupid because we don't know what is being moderated or not. I can appreciate people's concerns about my story getting obfuscated, but when someone speaks up to share their RL experiences, it shouldn't matter where. They are choosing to share them there, and it can feel very silencing for a mod to come in and say 'not here'.

It is the same thing that happens in RL. You can't share your stories at work, because that is inappropriate. You can't share your stories at a party, because it will bring down the mood. Then people wonder why no one ever hears the stories that we all collectively have.

Just got word from @Cobaltasaurus! She is so very thankful to you all, and thanks to everyone's contributions, her car is registered and insured, and she starts onboarding at her new job tomorrow!

      Seriously, you guys rock.

I mean, doesn't everyone love organic changes in story, grid, plot? Whoever plays Ruby @ Arx, that was really fun and amazing. I'm glad that the gown will move on and I think it's an interesting story arc all around a piece of clothing.

    • RE: GMs and Players

Constructively, this thread has once again confirmed that I would never want to play on a game that Derp staffs on.

Not my jam. I even get where you're coming from, where basically you are picking between two players and who knows who is lying in this high-stakes decision of Who Gets To Play On My Game!! But man. A little humanity and empathy goes a long way.

    • RE: Mustard MUSH List

      @faraday My milage does, apparently.

Edit: To clarify, my issue is with linking it in menus, not in a forum post. In a forum post, you're just saying, 'hey I found this resource'. Even if you had a page in your menus that said, 'outside resources' and had the link there, I wouldn't object.

But linking someone else's hard work in your menus comes off a lot like presenting it as part of your site, part of your work.

    • RE: Mustard MUSH List

@faraday Because, it's a courtesy and allows him the opportunity to pick the icon?

Like, I'm confused why there would be pushback on asking him. It's a small community wherein we all make things for each other, and if you are going to use a thing someone made, it'd be nice to do something like 'hey, is it cool if I link this? What icon would you like me to use?"

Just to point out, a member here made this. @Glitch.

He is the one who should get some hat tips for it and credit, and he should be asked if he wants it linked from the menu and what icon he might want used. (I know he has his own svg icon for the site.)

    • RE: Review of Recent Bans

Thank you for unbanning me. I maintain that I did nothing worth getting banned, even as each rule was put in place/requested.

I just lost someone close to me, and I won't be going into too much here, but I will clarify two things:

I'm not coming back. And I posted a ts/ship/ban post on the new forum, when I was tipsy and in a silly mood; I never ever mentioned 'killing' anyone. It was locked right away and then deleted. But if you want to be vitriolic about it, I won't stop you.

Good luck guys. Take care and goodbye.

@derp ok, would you consider them going to every GM scene shady shit, for example? Or them talking on channels in PA ways that may or may not refer to you? There's a lot of things that can affect you when someone who is stalking you is on the same small game as you, that you might not consider 'shady' and isn't just, page your friends.

If he doesn't contact you, then it's a moot point.

Not really. Do you honestly think that on a small game, the only way someone can affect you is by contacting you directly?

@reimesu and you completely missed my point.

      the irony.

you pointing out that i pointed out that you pointed out something krmbm already /said/ isn't constructive--. is exactly my point. you're tone policing some shit that doesn't need to be tone policed. she said 'i assume this works this way', and people say that shit all the time.

i said that just today in a meeting! where i said 'i assume the code works like this.' and one of my coworkers said 'it actually works like this'. because people know when you are making an assumption and labeling it as an assumption, that you know it's just an assumption and are willing for someone to correct that assumption.

      I would assume

      Well, that's an assumption

yeah, good job pointing out that it was an assumption when krmbm already said 'i assume'. like a label maker!

i would assume if it works differently, someone could correct krmbm.
