Worst Movies

What is, in your mind, the worst movie?
Same caveat as the worst game thread: you have to have actually watched it.
(For example: I imagine Twilight is terrible, but I've never actually watched it.)Therefor, my entry into this is 'Stargate Origins.' I know it was a 'web series,' but it got repackaged as a movie ... that I couldn't even finish. It's just bad. Not even 'get drunk and watch bad movies' bad.
-
Axe 'Em, aka 'I almost broke up with my husband for renting this'.
It is legitimately unwatchably bad. Not even funny bad, no matter what the reviews suggest. It is 'The Room' of horror flicks, and there is serious competition for that in the genre.
-
Stargate Origins is up there for sure. I'm a huge Stargate fan(which reminds me...I need to finish Ericson on SG: MUSH!) and this was just...not good.
For me, the worst movie I can think of is The Last Jedi. It's not just a bad Star Wars movie it's a bad movie. Beyond that, though it took something precious and dear to me and kind of shat all over it. It did something nothing else had been able to do in 40 years; tarnish my love of Star Wars. There might be movies that are technically worse, have worse acting, or whatever but for sheer emotional impact, this is the one for me.

Right? I was so excited for it, too. When they announced a series about Catharine, I was there for it.
And then I tried watching it.
And I couldn't get through it. I couldn't even force myself to finish so I'd have the 'canon' of it. JUST SO BAD.
There were parts of TLJ I liked. Parts.
But the casino planet shit will keep me from ever rewatching it. It was so unnecessary. -
Many, if not most of the Netflix independent RomComs are just outright awful.
The worst of all thus far, however, is Swiped.
-
@Cupcake I haven't seen Swiped but it may lead to a future movie that falls into this category for me. The lead actor in that movie (Noah Centineo) has been cast as..(it pains me to even think it)...He-Man in the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie.
-
Noooooooooooo.
What gets to me is that Centineo is perfectly enjoyable in To All The Boys I've Loved Before.
But He-Man?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

you're joking. Please tell me you are.
Both about a He-Man movie and Noah Centineo being cast as the lead.
-
I'm all for a Masters of the Universe movie just maybe not THIS MOTU movie.

You could have just gone with this and it would have been perfect.

Hey, people had doubts about Momoa as Aqua-Man too.
-
TRIPLE POST!
Worst, most painful movie I can remember voluntarily watching all the way through?
The Dragonlance animated movie thing.

I was not one of them!
So let me have my extreme doubt button on.@Derp said in Worst Movies:

I could never summon up the interest in watching that in the first place. The people I knew who were most excited about it, at time of release, were the like........ fringe gamers? Like people who sometimes gamed but not really (as in they might have played a TTRPG once or twice and played board games once or twice a year maybe) but had read a Dragonlance book? It was a weird demographic.
-
@Derp I was so excited for that movie. Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends make up 6 of my favorite fantasy novels. The movie had everything going for it; great setting, great story, great cast. Yet they still managed to muck it up horribly.

Well, you may be happy (or not) to know that supposedly Joe Manganiello is working on a script for Dragons of Autumn Twilight. I could see him as Caramon.
-
@Derp Would he do double duty as Raistlin as well? The amount of fanboy squee I'd imagine he'd have at the notion of playing Raistlin is palpable.
-
Lol, I could see that being cool, though I could also see someone else playing Raistlin, too. Even in the books, before the incident in the TOHS and all the confusing time-things that happened with that, Raistlin and Caramon were described as looking very different, so I imagine that they were fraternal twins.
-
@Derp I don't recall if they explicitly said they were fraternal, I thought their differences had more to do with how they pursued different paths in life, and then of course, Raistlin getting worked over during his test.
Come to think of it, you know what might work? Joe as Sturm Motherfuckin' Moustache Brightblade.

Oh my god, the 'stache. Noooo.

Raistlin was always different looking than Caramon. Even as kids Raistlin was sickly and frail. While the test broke his body it had been damaged to begin with. Oddly they are described as identical twins with one note, Paladine says something about "identical twins" being one person split in two. In this case, Caramon got the body and Raistlin got the brains.
