This is extra funny if you read Japanese because of the pun on carrot (ninjin) and warrior (bushi) which when put together like this make the same sound as Shinshi which is an old fashioned way of saying a gentleman. Doesn’t work so well in English but trust me, it’s brilliant and funny.

When I was first introduced to that book about 30 years ago, I thought it was hilarious that Bunnicula makes veggies turn white. I knew what a vampire was, but a vampire rabbit draining produce white was just the neatest idea at the time.

The Celery Stalks at Midnight was one of my older kids' favorite read aloud books when they were little (and I enjoyed it as a kid too).
