Oh! Castlevania Season 3 is out too.

Yes but that's like, the prime example of a dark show.
(Also season 3 has been falling flat for me personally. I've only made it a couple episodes before I wandered on to other things.)

Saying the quiet parts out loud since 1996.

Actor Josh Gad Is Reading Books to Kids Online Every Night During Coronavirus Quarantines

Outschool -- Offering online classes for kids up to age 18, some for as little as $5 per class. Gonna be honest, though. I'm 35 and some of these look awesome. >.>

Speaking of the Great British Baking Show, I recently discovered The Great Pottery Throwdown and its full episodes on YouTube.

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4-6sFsql7s <-- first one.

It's like the Great British Baking Show except pottery.

Speaking of which, here is the great british sewing bee!

Starting at 5PM daily, they'll be cooking recipes that can primarily be made using standard pantry ingredients. Lists of substitutions will be included given limited stock in grocery stores.

So this isn't a "resources" post as much as it is a Strong Suggestion (tm).

The governor shutdown my entire state to control coronavirus spread, which includes all non-essential (basically anything that's not a pharmacy, grocery store, laundromat, or post office) retail. This morning, I spoke to two different friends who are small business owners that I've been a long-time customer of. They're freaking out -- not just for themselves, but for their employees

I realize things are a shitshow right now. But. BUT. If you're lucky enough to not have a massive financial impact hanging overhead -- maybe you're able to WFH, maybe you're in healthcare, maybe you just have a crapload of money -- please please please consider making your purchases through the online sites of independent shops and small local companies. Jeff Bezos doesn't need your money right now, but I know people who are in tears because they had to layoff their entire workforce yesterday in the hopes that their employees would at least qualify for unemployment.

In the meantime, for all those 'essential' businesses?

Be kind. Say thank you. Tip people you can tip. They're working their asses off through this panic, potentially putting themselves at risk, and most of the positions are minimum wage or low-paying jobs. The absolute very least those people deserve are our patience and kindness.

This was true on such a level that I can't even.

I need a hell of a lot more chocolate though.

@silverfox I know, mate, I know! Our students aren't used to online either and so my plan for lecture - group work - create wiki - means a dozen emails flailing at me 🙂

Just to be clear "The Magicians" is an incredibly dark show, and, while fantastic, many episodes have left me shaking with emotions. It doesn't pull punches, so be wary.
