@Tinuviel I teach an entire degree module on "look critically at this journal article". The most effective thing I've found is saying "Imagine if the person you hate most in the world wrote this. find the weaknesses and bring your receipts - show me evidence that they are wrong." This seems to inspire them with a desire to rip that paper to shreads πŸ˜›

On a broader note, Curt Schilling may play on the Boston Red Sox, but he's a New York Yankees fan, he brought the entire team down by focusing on his own career, just like Larry Bird bringing Rick Pitino's numbers down and dooming the team in favor of a better merchandising margin from Boston fans because Larry Bird looks really ugly (people assume it's Irish culture, we're just drunk constantly underage).

So do I interpret you as indicating it's dipshit, instead of plagiarism, or do I correctly intuit I'm being referred to as a dipshit, knowing context?

Sorry, I thought I was being playful. I'll back off.

@Chet Well. I hope you pass "Actually Reading What Was Written 101."

Consciously, sure. But what about what the author was subconsciously trying to imply, however unintentional it might have been?

(I may have gotten into too many arguments with the film studies dude who refuses to join MUs for some reason, but this is the sort of rabbit hole I end up getting dragged down with them)

FWIW, if you enjoy Ensign Sue Must Die, it's actually the first part of a trilogy:

                        • Ensign Sue Must Die
                        • Ensign Two: Wrath of Sue
                        • Ensign Cubed: Crisis of Infinite Sues

Sadly, the Interrobang Studios site and store seem to be gone, so the print copies I have here are probably no longer obtainable, but I think the whole thing (including the second and third arcs) is still somewhere on Kevin Bolk's DeviantArt page. (Bolk being the co-creator and artist.)

a.k.a. Packetdancer (or "Pax" for short)
