I wanted to pick up a new hobby this summer so I decided to get into miniature painting. I've never been able to draw a straight line in my life but I think my Sisters of Battle are coming out surprisingly ok. Feel free to post your own or post about miniature games in general.

Looks like a good start! Quite the challenge you've taken on to do a mainly white colour scheme, notoriously fickle to paint.

Looks good. I started up some Space Wolves at the beginning of the year, then the pandemic hit, delays in stock, and now there's a new edition of the game coming out and I don't know what's going to be legal going forward.

Since I'm using a white primer, I'm actually finding it's the dark colors that give me trouble most of the time. Though I think hardest thing by far is trying to make the face and hair look good.

Do you find it relaxing? I am not a delicate handed person in the slightest. I worry I will ruin the miniature within .02 seconds of having it and the paints out. I like the gold accents on the last one!

@SilentHills I'm the same way. I'm also a bit color blind so I often mess up colors. What I found helped me was using GWs contrast paints. They're very forgiving and do a lot of the fiddly work for you. For me, they work really well.

I find it relaxing in an exhausting kind of way. It's really calm to be hyper focused on one brushstroke at a time but it strains my eyes after a while so I can only paint one model at a time before needing to rest.
I don't find myself worrying about ruining the miniature because there's always a number of ways to fix a mistake.
- If you're quick enough you can use a clean brush to soak up all the stray paint from the miniature.
- Most paint errors can just be painted over with more paint. (Just make sure you're thinning your paints so the model doesn't turn into clayface)
- Most areas of the model which are hard to paint cleanly are usually invisible to casual observation.
If you look closely at my models you'll see the individual brushstrokes are awful but it's hard to notice unless you're looking for it.

Not all models are the same difficulty to paint either. Some can basically be painted with just washes and not have much in the way of detailing at all.
