Looking For RIFTS

Out of curiosity, are there any RIFTS games left out there in the internet ether? I get the bug sometimes. The Lost Dominion looks fun, but it also looks dead - I don't see any activity since November of last year, save for a brief announcement of server upgrades in July.

@MiserEnoch Yeah, there's really just Lost Dominion. I'd love for there to be an active RIFTS game, but I realize that there's a lot more than the usual problems of porting a TT RPG to this prospect.

Hi there,

Lost Dominion is undergoing a revamp.

We'll have a new system using Savage Rifts and we're moving to the Ares platform.

I'd love to be able to give a time frame but we're still coding the system.

We've been talking about what it would take to do a Rifts MU* on a different thread. I think Coding Palladium would be an interesting challenge - but Lost Dominion has it right. SWADE Rifts looks pretty decent. I'm kind of Meh on Savage Worlds (Though I looooove Deadlands) but it's way less to track and do data entry for.

I'd love to see a good Rifts game too. I haven't played since the early 00's when I went to one of their open house conventions.

@kumakun I still twitch at the memory of having to use spreadsheets to level people up on the Rift mush I staffed on.

Not enough people got FATE? I dig it, and good luck in the recode, let me know if you need any help. I loved the feel of the game you had setup.

Whoo, yeah, that'd be a right pain in the keister. Each book and splat book looks to contradict the other, so you'd basically have to pick one of the cores and force everything else to conform. For example, depending on your core and splat, 'partial borg' could either mean only one hand altered or everything but a leg.
