BITN is just hunters, mortals and m+ I believe, yeah? So basically, anyone wanting a 2e vampire or werewolf game needs to look elsewhere. Not sure if their system allows for wolf-blooded or ghouls, but what are they without their super counterparts?

And as far as looking elsewhere goes, there isn't anything. Not unless you know (and are liked enough by) the right people to get an invite to Echoes.

They're trying...something...on Reno. They won't tell the players what. Or how it will supposedly fix things. General feel I get from the people I've talked to is "doubt it'll make much difference." Some don't even plan on bothering to do the 'homework assignment' the entire playerbase was given.

Outlook feels bleak, on all fronts. I has a sad.

I am honestly curious what 'homework' a mush would try to give it's players other than: Read this lore.

It's just an invitation to give a blurb about your PC/goals, what you'd like to see, if you're willing to run prps with seeds given by staff, ect.

I'd have termed it a survey rather than homework.

It is a survey. I asked for it.

Yep, I think it's was a great thing to ask for. Some people might not choose to participate but I think it's all valuable info.

                  It is.

You don't have to participate, but failure to participate means I have less information on which to draw from to create interesting scenarios for an individual player or a group. That's all. I'm not a mind-reader and I'm not omniscient; I don't know what salient things have happened since the PC was approved.

Thorne's player gave me an excellent precis on his PC. And now I know a bit about the player's motivations behind the PC.

Good luck, @Ganymede . Getting players to reply to shit which is 100% mandatory can be nigh impossible.

It's not mandatory? Where are people getting this idea from?

I suspect he meant "stuff which isn't". Might be a typo.

Having done leadership with volunteer orgs for a long time, I do think he's correct with the mandatory aspect not being followed, though. IME it rarely is, unless it's something that will result in removal from the organization, and even then you will have people need to be chased down/think it doesn't apply to them/scream and cry once action is taken. You will never have 100 percent participation in a information survey, sadly.

But this request isn't mandatory, it's just a request. It seems kind of reasonable, and isn't asking anyone to dig deep, nor is it busywork.

I meant that even when something is mandatory, getting the players to respond can be exceedingly difficult.

This wouldn't be the first time I've tried this. I've done it at least half-a-dozen other times.

Part of the exercise is figuring out who has the energy and willingness to comply and try to help us get things going. And once I get a handle on that, I know who to turn to when I have a plot-idea to run. If people complain about being excluded, I can simply point to this request, and point out how their failure to respond led to an apparently-erroneous response.

I will probably answer these things come the weekend. My week is hell right now.

There's no rush on it, but I intend to spend a good deal of time this weekend coming up with modules and shit.

@Ganymede I haven't answered either since my entire character concept is "sex and violence" and also I am busy bumping in the night.

I was one of the staffers of Kingsmouth, starting near the end of its life, and once it died, and a few players and I started planning a reboot. It never went anywhere as none of us were coders, and while I stepped up, I wasn't sure where to begin learning.

I'd still like to see a reboot.

                                            Seems appropriate for that concept.
