GuildHunter game? (Angels, Vampires)

I don't mind building a grid. THough, I don't travel far so I don't really know what most cities look like. I vote just making a fictional city (not a small town or some thing but a city).

That's why I think I'll allow them to have psychic type powers as well, if people want them. But I think no animal traits, or elemental powers, etc. Maybe. I don't know. I wonder how many people would even be interested in playing vampires when Angels are available. XD

I guess maybe have people trend toward playing the most special/interesting/powerful vampires, along with playing up any advantages of being able to go low profile due to not having huge great feathery wings? I have not read the books though.

Neither have I but I want feathery wings.
IO will build grids to Colbat's heart's content if she has not found someone.

I totally want feathery wings as well, from what I have read so far, they can even be pretty colours instead of all being white or something.

Omg, they can. That's the best freaking part. Oh, oh, lemme find the Elena cosplay. This is a lot like what the main character would look like. Well of the books. XD But like there's also Illium in the books who is described as having bright robin's egg blue wings, tipped with gold.

I'm still trying to decide. In the books they out right say that Venom is the only one of his kind that Neha has ever been able to successfully make. And that Nazir is the only Chimera to ever survive into adulthood. I could let people play unique vampires but state that they have to be UNIQUE. No overlapping concepts. And then keep a running list. I doubt that game will get so huge that it necessarily "breaks" the world to do so.

How are you gonna handle alts? I feel like it should be 1 'special' being (vampire, angel, magical powered peoples, hunter, etc) and then whatever of 'normal' folk so that the seeming limited stuff is not claimed by the same 5 people. Or is there less of a limit than it seems?

I won't limit anything. There can be as many Angels as players want to play. The only "limit" is that if I allow the "special" vampires, I don't want people to overlap their thing.
Oh a note on Angels their abilities: Their abilities tend to be tied to who that Angel is as a person. Michaela-- being a cruel person who easily hurts people with words. Now has the ability to hurt people via telekinesis. Mahiya who spent most of her life watching, has a sensory ability and can bring light. Raphael has gained the ability to heal. Etc.

How many abilities do angels have? Or can have? What will be the limit on that sort of thing? If you've put any thought toward that. Oh, also, will there be any abilities that may be blacklisted?
I find it really interesting how the abilities are tied to the personality of the angel, that is really neat.

likely we will use FAE and folks will get three, uh, traits that can be abilities or powers.

Personally, I find the idea of a vampire who is still in service to an Angel interesting. Sorta like a ghoul without the stupid.
Of course first I'm playing my Angel with wings of cobalt blue that fade to black tips ... (Cobalt blue is my favorite color. This is not me sucking up. My apartment is FULL of cobalt blue glassware)

How are you handling Sanctuary? (Existence, traveling to/from, territories within, etc)

So I started reading the books, which are definitely smut though the setting is certainly cool, it seems that describing and posing pretty wings would be a very important skill in order to remain true to theme.

Sanctuary? Do you mean The Refuge? The short story about Jessamy and Galen makes it seem like its somewhere in North America. So ... it'll be somewhere in North America but not on grid. Likely folks will be able to use PrP rooms and stuff to be there. I don't see it having much impact on the game itself.

They fly from Sanctuary to New York in the short story with Jessamy & Galen. In a short enough time period to make me thing its somewhere in the Americas. And I think it is in North America vs say Elijah's territory, since he isn't there that often. Raphael is the Archangel that is there most often.

Can be humans who hate vampires. Angels who aren't nice to humans or vampires. Could also be people aligned with Lijuan. Or be run of the mill criminal humans.
