I had a character that was supposed to be a mover and a shaker in a political marriage. I was looking forward to scheming with my PC husband. He just wanted to pat me on the head and tell me to make babies.

I'm sorry your mover and shaker turned out to be a broodmare in disguise.

EDIT: I recommend Arx if you wanna give the political mojo a try. It's in alpha and there's a learning curve, but there's systems being implemented which can make you actually useful on that front.
