Star Trek games?

So far I've found one MOO (Where No One has Gone Before) that seems like a decent game but has made the setting into something that doesn't attract me and one bizarrely MUD-like MUSH (TrekMUSH: Among the Stars). Anyone know of any other active Star Trek games?

I also found TrekMUSH: Among the Stars and it was weird and off-putting, though I also had a knee-jerk reaction to a lot of it that probably wasn't fair.
A Star Trek game would be cool.

If you want a site that is less about the coded space than about roleplay, at least in my experience.

I connected to this game this evening. At around 8:30 PM Eastern Time, each of the eight bits logged in has been idle between one and seven hours, and the top three bits (two admins and a "player') have been logged on for 48 days. This doesn't look like it's worth the effort to investigate further.

It's also some odd MUSHserver, with unfamiliar commands. This is a hassle to me.

I generally can handle unfamiliar commands. On Among the Stars, though, the game couldn't interpret what I was sending from Atlantis so that just trying to say something on the public channel resulted in 'Huh?' three-quarters of the time.

I'd play a star trek game if I could play a betazoid scientist again. ~sigh~
(FAE would actually be a good, easy system for a trek game vs the crunchiness of LUG and uh the other one.)

http://www.startrekkin.net is a good game. It's in a rebuild in need of more players to get more activity going on. Often times, those people who are idle for hours at a time are there, but just not actively posting to the game itself. Unfortunately, it's a catch 22. It needs more players to get more active, and needs to be active to attract more players. But I assure you, once players arrive, there will be much more ability to do things, and much more activity.
@Cobaltasaurus Betazoids are a playable race in this game, and Science is a department in need of players. I'm certain you could play what you're looking for.

It's amazing how many people use the same exact character names/concepts across Trek games. There's a few names and roles in those logs that I recognize from WNOHGB. (Also, not a lot of logs posted so far.)

Not as in 'Wow, this person who is 28 already looks WAY old and that's strange!' sort of way. But, 'Wow! This person is 28! That's real goddamn old!'

I've been thinking about this all day and actually I don't know, my friends and I are creeping into our thirties and looking at us... maybe this really is noteworthy????

Thirty is not really old for normal people but depending on that persons job in Star Fleet it could be. After all 30 is an age where top end athletes tend to begin to have drops offs especially NFL running backs.

It also depends on the time ratio. Some Trek games are 1:1, which can be weird when dealing with promotions, but it ends up keeping the crew young.
One Trek game I'm on is 6:1. If it wasn't for a bunch of newer characters the past year, the average character age would be in the 50s.

I think 4:1 should be the best time ratio, when dealing with promotions. In a 3 year game, your character would have aged 12 years, which (considering the TiG of US Navy) is enough to take someone from an Ensign to a Lieutenant Commander on his way to become a full Commander.

I generally app the rank I want to play on these sorts of games, if at all possible. If my character gets promoted, great, but it's not some huge failing that rages me if it doesn't happen. Makes me a happier player.
