An open letter to Fallcoast

Dear @Sonder,
In a conservative-ish estimate, by the end of 2016, there should be new core books for Changeling: the Lost and Promethean: the Created.
That would mean there are 2nd edition versions of: Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Changeling, Hunter*, Promethean and non-2nd Edition versions of Geist, Immortals and Purified. We can call generic M+ a wash, but I'll give it to the non-2E camp.
Basically.
You should make Fallcoast a 2nd edition game. To help with your decision, I have made a pro-con list for you.
Pro:
- Better rules
- I would play on your game
- Richer, more rewarding source material
- Streamlined rules for crossover encounters
- You would get to laugh at any whiney complainers
- Could justify dropping those shitstain Possessed
- Your boyfriend thinks I am a cool dude
Cons:
- Need to convert Geist
- Would need to convert Immortals, Possessed
- Loss of many Thaumaturgy stuffs
I am even willing to help out. That's right, I would even temporarily be your staff bitch.
However, I know you will say yes anyway, because I am super good at manipulating you, as described by @Sovereign (long may he reign).
Thank you for your consideration,
@tragedyjones -
Con:
- All the werewolves could hump each other.
-
Con :
There are multiple 2E options out there and none stopping anyone from making another.
Fallcoast is the only 1E game remaining. (That I know of)I have know problem with there being 2E games but why do folks keep harping on the one option to play 1E changing?
-
Con:
The change would be as half-assed as it was on TR. -

There's a reason that's actually solid gold amazing, though: staff need no longer give a single solitary fuck about anybody else's single, solitary f-- you get the picture.
But really, as a former werestaffer? I was stupendously happy it is now in the books that I did not have to care about wereboinking, ever.
That there was one sphere that required staff to give a damn about who was or wasn't TSing was, at least for this hobby, pretty epic on the bleah scale. And that's in addition to the many, many reasons OP changed it themselves, the vast majority of which get a Hell Yeah! from me.

Because 1E is a relic. 2E has done such an amazing job for the most part making each game its own thing, trimming the fat, and adding fun new elements to the system as a whole that any time anyone talks about going back I am baffled. I don't think anyone has ever managed to give me an objective answer for their preference either, aside from what can be considered nostalgia or just fear of new shiny things.

No thanks!

Touchstones suck and beats suck.

No more werewolf ghost babies in 2e?

Nope. They basically came out and said they considered the ghost abortions a throwback to the most negative concepts behind the metis in Apocalypse, which were themselves kind of fucked up and based around shame culture, so they just scrapped the entire thing.
-
So what are they doing? Rewriting the Oath or getting rid of it entirely?
-
-
@tragedyjones You should just make another game with Geist, Possessed, etc updated to 2E. I actually like Wolfbooded for the new books.

I think the second edition mechanics are superior for the most part the story parts for 2nd leave me totally cold.
Also I am somewhat biased because the character I am playing now is not possible in 2nd ed changeling at least not the stuff we have seen of it. -

Bleh. Effort.

@tragedyjones But you will not be able to do your hand off thing if you don't!

There was only one part of the Oath that had anything to do with werewolves fucking werewolves, and it just got altered a little. In 2E, they are encouraged to cleave to the human, but it doesn't necessarily have to be sexually--it's just socially, mostly because you don't want to swing too hard towards spirit--but then, you don't want to swing too hard towards human, either. And you can pretty much fuck anyone or anything you want without endangering your Harmony.
