So far, one thing I like is that it's impossible for there to be spoilers, as there's no plot whatsoever.
There is a plot... sort of. And an ending as well.

Honestly, the best part of the game is the use of "Emeril" as a commodity. I see a big deposit of it, and I scream out "BAM!"

Does anyone else have the problem where you'll go to lift off on the planet's surface, and instead of just going up a little it jettisons you right off of the planet? It's super frustrating when I'm just trying to fly to a new location that's too far to walk. >.<
-
@Cobaltasaurus Are you on the PC?
-
Yes

This happens to me as well, although not very often.

I get it like every third or fourth lift off, its super aggravating.

I'll be honest and say that I don't think this game will hold my interest for very long. It may be that I just haven't explored far enough into the galaxy yet, but so far aside from two planets most of the planets I've been too have been very much alike the other. Like four out of six or seven have been high toxicity planets full of weird mushroom like flora.
One has been a mostly liquid world that was freezing, and most everything was under water but had lots of Radnox and Chrysoimum (whatever). With like trees and a hostile mushroom animal.
Another was a desert planet with no flora or fauna.
I spent a lot of time on one planet mining emeril so I could get a better ship, jump to a new system and explore ... only to come right back to a highly toxic planet with mushroom fauna.
Disappointed.

The new patch coming out soon is supposed to make PC and PS4 owners really happy.
Here are some fixes for the PC if you are having issues.
Here is basically a big long list of everything that was promised, that wasn't in the game.
Some people are pissed off that No Man's sky might be coming to XboxOne. But what pisses me off is the interview where they say maybe they were naive about unpaid DLC, and there might be paid DLC in the future, despite saying earlier this week it would be free.
I know some people are really pissed off about the missing content, and feel lied to by the devs. I'm not, honestly. I think they bit off way more than they could chew, and had these really awesome ideas but couldn't implement them, and the game had already been delayed, so rather than delay longer, they put a game out. I probably would have been fine with with paid DLC, most games come with that now. I like exploring and space, even if it is a bit samey. Saying free DLC and then saying eh... maybe not? I'm seriously considering returning it.
ETA: I did get attacked by a giant dinosaur on a radiation planet, so that was cool.

Haven't read much of the thread. Just got NMS on Tuesday.
Wish I was playing instead of working... and then after work I gotta look at apartments.WANT MOAR SPACE TIEM

Whelp, I found a Vortex Planet. Looks like I'll never need money again.
-
I am overall disappointed with the game, but that may be because it's just not my thing.
-
So far I love things, but I won't deny that I'll eventually get bored. So long as I get to see different enough flora, fauna, and aliens I'll be happy. LONG LIVE THE GEX!

I'm restarting.
I screwed some stuff up.
And then I screwed up majorly today.SO.
Starting over. Wiser. -
You can dig so far into the ground going after gold that you can't get out. >.>
-
I suggest digging holes on a slope, so you can run back out from the subterranean carnivore bugs that hide down there. Else you may end up lost in an endless cave system forever. Luckily, you can just reload your lat save, as your ship isn't there for saving your location in a impossibru place.

Unless your first step drops you through the world.

Looks like one of the early moons I found is filled with large gold deposits and I wasn't bothered by any sentinels while I farmed over 200k units last night. I think I've found a good early mining venture to get those units up.
A friend tipped me off to those grenades you can unlock for your multi-tool, and carving out a little diagonal tunnel can be very nice for recovering from the elements in a pinch instead of having to run back to your ship or find an actual cave system every time.
-
Hit 10mil units. Bought Flagship. Flagship now has All-The-Guns, no more mining for me, HorrorHound now shoots Big Things.
P.S - Multitool has become Grenade-Launcher Magnum.
