Aha, I only ever used Grave Dirt Caul, shoulda looked at it's Shroud thanks for the heads up.Way off topic for the thread but Yes grave dirt shroud is very nice, at 1 you can't be suffocated and take no damage from grapples two is the boosted armor, three is spend 3 plasm to down grade all damage from a metal or earthen weapons and the rule specifically mentions it does work on bullets.
Back to closer to on topic the relationship between keys and powers is one of the big reasons I can see a game excluding sin-eater, except for mage, every other splat is you buy power dot you get to do one more thing, with SE you get to do one new thing per key you possess, so the progression while not the geometric explosion of abilities mage has it out paces the other games in regards to utility, using the shroud example if i have shroud 1 along grave dirt and stillness keys when I buy shroud 2 not only do I get the ability to turn into heavy tank with grave dirt but when stealth is required instead of tank I get to be invisible. For most splats those two powers tend to be on separate tracks often with one being considered out of clan/tribe/etc so being more expensive than base.

Are you guys planning to use 2.0 books as they become available or are you only using the 1.0 versions anyway? I'm referring to things like updated Bloodlines, Kiths, etc.
-
@Arkandel AFAIK only if we feel they improve on things (which I know is arbitrary). We prefer changeling kiths and such as they are currently.

How dare you raise my hopes that these will be released by the end of 2017.
<end tangent>
-
@Arkandel GMC as best we can. Some 2.0 is being houseruled in as desired/needed.
-
@Thenomain I thought at least CtL was scheduled for Spring 2017? April-June is what I saw on their site at least. Or have there been optimistic estimates before, since I haven't been paying that much attention?

@Arkandel
Considering Changeling switched devs when/during/before David H.'s quitting, who knows. -
Just wanted to give a shout out to Fear and Loathing. I've been playing there for about two months and am having a blast.
The vampire sphere is, in particular, very fun and active with a great player base and terrific staff support. There is an ongoing PrP that is pulling people in across spheres and has already generated over 50 ST'd scenes, with numerous other related social scenes.
Politics is also heating up, with lots of power up for grabs for those Kindred who can managed to wield and hold it.
If you are interested and looking for a specific way in, I am particularly interested in recruiting for the Invictus. We could use more members in the Covenant to help us seize control of the Vegas Strip. Even more specifically, both I and another Invictus player are interested in siring progeny, so if you are interested in an IC becoming and would like to play Gangrel or Mekhet, let us know. We'd be happy to help you out with that!
Any questions? Come on in and check out the activity. And feel free to shoot me a page while you are there. I play as Tucker.

Would like to echo @Brunocerous statement. I've posted before supporting Fear & Loathing, and think it has a lot of potential. Politics in the vampire sphere is definitely starting to heat up and there are some great PrPs going on. There is a lot of productive cross-sphere RP as well. As the Praxis is just ICly reforming, now is a good time to get involved.
As part of that, I am looking for someone to play my own vampire character's childe. Caius is rather old-worldy and does have a bit of a hard time fitting into the modern Las Vegas nights. When his childe was Embraced is up for discussion ... either back in his old days, in the 1920s when he was active in San Francisco (He was on Cofab and is a transfer) or even something recent to his reawakening in Las Vegas. His bloodline can be problematic for some people, so its entirely optional as to whether the person activates it.
My other character, Book, also has extensive family in Las Vegas (his descendants). The Book family can comprise of any sphere and some are active members of the police force and city government. If you're interested in that as a different route, happy to explore that too.
Anywho, just a couple of RP hooks if one is looking for a good way into the RP at Fear & Loathing. After Reach and Cofab, I left MU*ing for awhile and am glad I tapped into this place upon returning. It is a good group of RPers and the Staff are attentive (full disclosure, I came in a month ago as Encore to help out with +jobs and such). Join us!

Hey! I'm new to MU*'s in general. I come from a DIKU codebase background, and have spent about a month, maybe a month and a half at Fear and Loathing, and I absolutely love it. The stories are great, the players are great, and the staff is great! I just created a musoapbox account just so I could respond to a couple things.
In regards to that whole 'NPC'/Guest Star thing, it does have potential for abuse. A lot of things have potential for abuse. So far though, the Guest Stars have been active and helpful as supporting roles. Take Caius/Book for example. There's some potential for abuse there. His Guest Star's opinion of my char could impact his Star's opinion, and information from one could be leaked to the other, but that hasn't happened! Why? Because he's a mature player, whose goal in my opinion is that other's have fun, and enjoy the game! That' all it really takes to maintain a balance there. The checks and balances that been put into place to make sure abuse doesn't happen hasn't even had to be used yet, because those people willing to invest time and energy into a limited role meant purely as a helping hand and supporting figure in a Star's RP aren't doing so to get a one up on anybody. They're trying to fill out the world in general and add to the game, not their own power. We're getting more and more people everyday, so guest stars are less and less needed anyhow.
That said....
PLUG TIME!!
I'd like to re-echo the sentiments above. We want more players to fill out the vampire sphere! Things are hoppin' and all kinds of plots, intrigue, sabotage and even murder is happening. Deals are being made and blood is being spilled. Get in while the gettin's good! Here's some really, really niche roles that are being sought, and below them, some clans/covenants that need some love.
-
An Axe-Sworn member of the Ordo Dracul, of the Moroi bloodline
-
An Order of Sir Martin Knight, sworn to the Invictus, that acts as Cerberus (guardian) of the Necropolis
-
A Mortifier of The Flesh, of the Lancea Sanctum, that is dedicated as a confessor
-
A wandering pilgrim Acolyte of the Circle of the Crone, of the Empusae bloodline, with the Kindred Medium merit
-
A Ventrue of the Gorgon bloodline, member of the Circle of the Crone, that acts as Minotaur and oversees the trials of the Labyrinth
-
A Carnon bloodline biker that rides with the Brides of Dracula and practices Kindred Vodoun
-
A Bron Saint and Crusader of the Lancea Sanctum, that suffers from the Malkavia virus
-
A Hollow Mekhet of the Khaibit bloodline, student of the Ars Speculorum discipline, and member of the Ordo Dracul as lightsworn
-
An anarcho-capitalist Adrestoi Ventrue of the Carthian Movement
I'd plug my own characters, but hey, there's only so much badass that this thread can contain, yo. These roles above? SUPER NICHE. So if you could pull it off, and enjoy playing something above, do it! If not, there's still some ares that could use more players, just to give every area equal attention:
-
Members of any Mesoamerican or Southwestern bloodline such as Malintzin, Nahualli, Calacas, or Dead Wolf
-
Mekhet
-
Gangrel
-
Nosferatu
-
Ventrue
-
Brides of Dracula
-
Carthians
-
Lancea Sanctum
-
Invictus
This isn't your grandma's masquerade (Idk, maybe it is? Maybe your grandma is super cool. I hope so, invite her!) Either way, come play with us!
There's also plenty of things happening with CtL sphere. Those poor little PTSD victims need some soldiers in their ranks or leaders in the streets. I'm not going to go through all the details of those guys too. Man, would that be a long ramble? It's long enough already!
Just come on over. Sink your teeth into some meaty plots. Get hooked.
As a bonus, me or my wife or some of our friendly co-players will even trick out your wiki. Just ask! -

Tried to app in, waited around three days with no activity on my application so I just kinda forgot about it and walked away. Hopefully CG time improves? Maybe I was just unlucky? The CG system felt very... barebones which was both good and bad. Hope all goes well and folks enjoy themselves but don't think I'll be visiting again.
-
@magee101 Back in my day (2005), it was lucky if -any- game had a turn around earlier than a week! So I don't think it's that big of a deal if it's just a few days.
-
@magee101 So sorry about that! We usually get people approved quickly, but we've had a Sphere Eiz out, and RL hitting me and another. Hope you'll accept my apology and give us another try!
-
@magee101 You apped right when we were scrambling to deal with RL explosion for a few days, I found the character. As Botulism said, things are less hairy now, if you want ro give us another shot.

I don't mind waiting as long as I get at least a 'Hey might be busy, but took a quick look.' Just little updates that say "Hey we're active, just too busy to sit down and finish the app today" If a guy is sitting around in a room with another guy and neither one talks, eventually someone is going to walk out of the room is all.
Alright ya'll guilt tripped me into at least looking at it, it was only 11 days before someone noticed the app was even sitting there I might maybe just might finish up the app. I've been finding it hard to stick to anything with my busy work schedule but man do I love WoD and this seems pretty neat (even if it is going to be HELLA confusing what with incorporating tiny bits of 2.0 and mixing with 1.0 and GMC, like come on, plz pick a ruleset and either make me learn 2.0 or not)
-
That math doesn't quite add up to me, but hey, you came back. Any luck so far? Is your app done, Magee? What's the haps, yo?
-
I'm also apping right now! I'm just lazy due to writing an article today and now doing a Free Code Camp project.
-
Sweet!

The date of the @mail I received from opening the app and the date of the @mail sent when it was responded to was 11 days. Yeah, well sorta, still haven't finished that particular application but made another character in another sphere that was done in a day, but that is almost done just awaiting final approval.

Three days ago you wrote:

TBH at that point you should have lead with "I tried to apply over a week ago and I still haven't received a response." To us it looked like you were complaining about waiting 72 hours max, so maybe cut back on the passive aggressiveness here a tad, bud. 11 days is excessive, but they've apologized, you accepted, all's well that ends well.
