MU Flowchart

Good evening.
Does anyone have the good old flowchart? I need to show it for a friend.

A flowchart in... what?
- Hardcoding?
- Softcoding?
- Building?
- Design and staffing?
- Design and infrastructure?
- Time from starting a mush to opening to the public?
- Process of how to build a mush?
- Timeframe it takes to build a world based on theme?
- How mushes came about in existance?
- What people were involved in mushing?
- The general population that uses mush and how they trend?
- The average connections during a given period in the year?
- The average connections during a given period in a day?
You're leaving a lot open by just saying 'I want a MU flowchart'. We kinda need more than that.

@Ashen-Shugar Since he asked for 'the good old flowchart' rather than 'a good old flowchart,' I am assuming he is referring to some specific one that may be an old joke/meme.

Ah, in that case, this is the one I used to pin up in my cubicle a lot.
-
I think they mean the checklist for MU* creation. I thought @Thenomain or @WTFE was the curator of it.

No, it was Apathetic. I've been trying to remember his name for hours.
-
I'm surprised you cared.
Ah ha. ah. hah.

I have this only it says "Did you fuck with it?", "You poor bastard" and "Shitcan it."

Point for Misadventure.
Apathetic's one that clearly states that if you know jack about coding, your project is doomed.
Everytime that someone asked for coder on WORA, it would get a link.
-
Er, wait, what was the question again...
-
I have some good news and some bad news.
The good news: I do have a flattened copy of the last known copy of WORA and I found the link.
The bad news: It's PhotoBucket. I can't even look at it. I'm even having
somemany, many problems downloading, viewing, or even accessing the image. I even went as far as turning off ad blocking and turning off cookie tracking. PhotoBucket has become an absolute slog. The following is the text from the post, and the link, re-formatted for this forum. This is the flowchart, and the first post involving it.
Good luck.

Here, I made a handy flowchart for people wanting to create a MUSH. It can probably be improved, but there you go. Also, I may very well have used the wrong flowcharting symbols/etc, as flowcharting wasn't part of my education.

@Thenomain
I just visited the website with AdBlock on (Chrome). Waited a while, page took a while to load, then right-click and save the image. Uploaded it to here. -

I just visited the website with AdBlock on (Chrome).I should say that I did too, but I didn't think about the firewall of the public network I'm on might be making all of that hellishly bad. Anyway, thank you; I posted the link to let others try.
So anyhow, yeah: Learn to code or get a coder. The end.

I love you guys.
Now I can stare at it for long hours, sipping brandy, and contemplating how I'll never be able to have my own MU.

The key, of course, is to design a mush based on a theme that appeals enough to existing coders to draw them in so they can help you
-
@Ashen-Shugar
That'll get you the young'ins, but to get the really good coders, you'll have to also /really/ get them excited. And keep them excited through the project.Aka: Don't make them write the theme files, policy files, etc.
P.S. Also, good lord, getting a lot of upvotes for what basically was 'go to a site, download a file, upload it elsewhere', when Thenomain did all the work.
-
Alternatively, learn to code!
Seriously. There's a hell of a lot of code that you can just patch in and tweak with a very small amount of knowledge. You'd be surprised how quickly you can move from that small amount of knowledge to a few cosmetic tweaks, and from a few cosmetic tweaks to adding a couple of fields to +finger, and from doing that to creating a code to list everyone's age, and then it's a slippery slope.
Your mileage will clearly vary according to the type of game you want and how many code-heavy systems you want, but there are an awful lot of games that can run almost entirely on code other people have already written for you.
Don't let the flowchart kill your dreams!

7th Sea.
Fallout.
The Strange.
Anything @Coin mentions is vaguely interesting. (And a Your Mom joke here, because it’s Coin.)
What are yours, Ashen?
