When your family tries to pressure you into Fantasy Football because it's "family time" but really it's because they want a bigger league.

It's Dungeons and Dragons for people that used to pick on the kids who played Dungeons and Dragons.

I uh, kind of enjoy the trash talk and rivalry that comes with fantasy football and miss having a league to play in.

I enjoy it, but am just way too busy and need less to juggle. In the very near future I'm going to give zero fucks about football stats, injuries, and checking a lineup.

But I tell this to my famn damily and they're like: "buuuuut we're family we've gotta stiiiick together. Y U No Luv Ur Aunts and Cousins?"

Having to read, in detail, 77 pages of the Public Access Counselor's manual.

                          Why?

So that I can prove that no, we do not have to leave birth certificates and driver's licenses unredacted in a public records request.

You would think this would be common sense

                          It is not.

You would also think the legislature would have included these things in public access exceptions explicitly.

                          They did not.

Appreciate your paralegals, people. We are the thin line between your private information and the people who insist they are entitled to it under FOIA, because nervous attorneys who take a too-literal reading of statute lists won't help you.

Racism isn't Tinkerbell. It doesn't need you to believe in it for it to exist.

Good paralegals are worth their weight in gold for so many reasons, JFC.

I mean, granted, I didn't find explicitly what I was looking for. But I did find the part where it says 'this is not an exhaustive list' and 'agencies can make judgment calls about material they think should be non-disclosable if they are willing to back it up in court, when necessary'.

But more importantly, I found the part where it says 'the penalty for this is a stern reprimand from the public access counselor and a directive to send unredacted information'.

So there is literally no penalty for playing it safe, other than 'someone else tells us we have to do it which then means that it is not our problem as far as liability goes when someone misuses this information'.

And I dare any judge on the planet to tell us that we have to leave that material unredacted.

Racism isn't Tinkerbell. It doesn't need you to believe in it for it to exist.

Baking recipes that assume you have a standing mixer but don't MENTION it in the actual tools.

There are many places where a hand mixer does not cut it.

Excuse me as I go back to scraping bits of dough off of every part of me... and changing clothes. An apron was not sufficient for this!

Most dough recipes don't really require a mixer though. It doesn't tend to make it easier without a dough hook. Just work it by hand.
