Third day in a row now that I've woken up with less than six hours of sleep, for absolutely no reason, and in most cases several hours before I need to be up. I don't know what I did to upset my body so much, but apparently we're having a fight right now. Like it's come down to this:
"Hey. Good morning, Aria. And by good morning, I mean GO FUCK YOURSELF. Have a horrible day! <3"
Like, why? Just why?

In my family, everyone on the maternal side that are my mother's age and under suffered their first loss.
I lost my second cousin to an illness that she consciously chose to no longer suffer the drug and therapy treatments for because they were too painful. She also made the conscious decision on how she handled her end of life care and beyond that.
I respect her incredibly for making such choices.
It's just really hard to see my mother and my aunt this upset and hurt about it.

I ordered yarn for a new project. All but one skein arrived yesterday so I started the project because yay! new things!
...color change two rows in and I need the skein I don't have yet. gdi.

If you ever wonder just how much contempt Hollywood producers hold for their consumer base, consider: they used Sam Witwicky as the audience identification character.
-
Considering what movies tend to make the most money, I would imagine the contempt is overwhelming. I know mine is.

At that time in our nation's history, Sam Witwicky was perfect audience identification character.

Look, I know it's a lot of money. I am intellectually and emotionally aware it's a lot of money - but by the time I come to inspect the damage to your home, the estimate I give, is what it costs to repair your home. I say $15,000.00 and someone comes to tell you $7,000.00? That should throw up some red flags.
But you bought them, not me.
Now I am staring at the fire report of your home having burned to the ground and by the grace of pure luck, or whatever deity you pray to? None of your kids died. Your wife. No. Your house just burned down. I told you it wasn't safe, and I told you the repairs that needed to be made, and instead of repairing the system - you had someone cob it.Dammit.

"He's sexist, dumb, helpless, self-entitled, and a bully. Michael Bay really gets me."

'He's a white boy who gets the hot girl.'
I mean c'mon, look at all the women who imprinted on freakin' Bella in Twlight.
Both genders are guilty and Hollywood (and authors and game developers and....) takes advantage of it. They throw in a white bread, boring ass protagonist you can pretend is actually yourself being the big damn hero who gets the guy/girl and people sink into the escapism like a warm bath.

Yeah, no, I get that. It's a thing, it's fundamentally fine. I wouldn't be saying this if Sam was just a non-character for audience identification. I don't take issue with protagonists who are aggressively awful, either.
My point is that Sam is both: he's a garbage person who I'm supposed to be using as my stand-in. If someone holds up Sam Witwicky to me and says "here, this is you!", I can safely say that person hates me.
(And @HorrorHound don't be mean to Keannu. He's not much one for... intense emotion in his film, but he does his thing.)
-
Keanu is also one of the Hollywood sorts who is apparently uncommonly kind and decent. Leave Keanu alone.

I suppose except the ones where he plays a toy, a bush, and Theodore Logan, right?

Bill & Ted Face the Music drops on August 28, 2020 and I AM SO FUCKING HERE FOR IT.

That t-shirt is currently high in my rotation. (though mine is blue). And it's on 6 dollar shirts, so I mean... I couldn't go too wrong.

Keanu is awesome.
And @insomniac7809 I did reference Bella, aka training wheels for teaching young girls that they should let men gaslight and abuse them
we're all presented with garbage role models
At least Bumblebee gave us Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie instead of another Sam.
