@derp this has been known for years, the trailer is out already. Still kinda meh on it. Nothing will ever be as good as the short film with Nathan Fillion and Stephen Lang as Drake and Sully.

Edited to add: Link to the Fillion, Lang, Ernie Reyes fan film: https://youtu.be/v5CZQpqF_74

@derp I'm not sold on it, just based on the trailer.

The comment I read that stuck is that it looks like one of those generic action films The Rock puts out once a year.

@derp To be honest I thought it was a given. The first movie was pretty successful.

@derp I haven't seen Cruella, Army of the Dead, or Eternals.

@alamias Army of the Dead was disappointing, imho.

Army of the Dead was too long, but all right; it was a little disappointing, yes.

Army of Thieves on the other hand is much better.

@coin Meh. What should have been a fun romping adventure about a group of mercenaries safecracking a Vegas vault during the zombie apocalypse turned into a whingey whinefest of childish characters that should have died within five minutes of setting foot on zombie turf. There wasn't enough humor to make a satire, it was more like a particularly boring episode of Days of Their Lives, if there also happened to be zombies everywhere.

                          I mean, okay???

I agreed with you. Lol. You feel real strongly about this, I see.

@coin If by 'very strongly' you mean I gave it approximately 5 minutes' consideration to put my thoughts about a movie I watched once some months ago... sure.

Encanto was better than I expected it to be. I highly recommend it.

It was also more painful. I know what it is like to grow up with expectations and feeling like you haven't met them. For two of my cousins, it led to suicide.

It's good to hear Lin-Manuel Miranda doing service to this variety of music. I love the fact that they sincerely tried to cast otherwise-unknown Colombian stars.

Do yourself the favor of watching his one, unless memories of not living up to expectations is a trigger.

@ganymede Just a random FYI because I think those who contribute regularly to this thread would probably like to know these things:

This one, in my opinion, deserves your attention.

Maybe not your money, mind, so watch it on Disney+, if you have that.

                                  But it's really good.

I think I said it before somewhere but Cherry 2000 is my favorite dystopian future film of the 80s. Just wanted to mention it again, its similar to the likes of Road Warrior/Mad Max or Streets of Fire - civilization is in the cities, the rural areas are wastelands; sort of like Shadowrun.

Its on Hulu now. Its set in 2017, and its interesting/funy to see some things it got right. They have wine comes in an aluminum cannister, much like the aluminum water bottles that are popular now (which no one had in 1985 when the film was filmed). The funny thing is the bottom has a bar code which wasn't a thing in 1985 but everything is scannable now for self check out, so that was an interesting prediction. The lawyers for casual dating was funny but with the amount of prenups now, it wasn't /that much/ off the mark. And the car has a collision warning system, reminds me of my car telling me to break then slowing down itself if I tail someone.

                                      I still like this movie

I'm just a surge protector doing my job, sir.

I really wanted to like The Matrix Resurrections. But I am not sure it was even better than the original sequels. 😞
