Just what the title says. I like quotes. Hit me with your favourite(s).
"No" is a complete sentence. It does not require justification or explanation.
Don't believe everything you think.
You may see me struggle, but you will never see me quit.

I'll go with an inspirational one.
Today I'll do what others won't so tomorrow I can do what others can't.

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

Nice is different than good.
Bonus favorite quote: Rack city bitch, rack rack city bitch. Ten ten ten, twenties and them fifties bitch.

I actually have a quote collection thanks to coming across this post on keeping a commonplace book a few years ago and starting one. Some of my favorite quotes are in my current book. Most of my other quotes are in a box of index cards.
Here's a few of my favorites:
"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten." - Tony Robbins"The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence." - Charles Bukowski
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized anyway." - Eleanor Roosevelt
"The existence of a majority logically implies a corresponding minority." - Phillip K. Dick, "The Minority Report"

@kanye-qwest The voice of a generation. This one's got me through so many dark times.

All we want to do is eat your brains. We're not unreasonable, I mean, no one's gonna eat your eyes.

Go fuck yourself.

“My father warned me about men and booze but he never said anything about women and cocaine.”
― Tallulah Bankhead

"If arson isn't the answer, I clearly misunderstood the question." - Chris Bucholz

This entire exchange from Hogfather. I know, it's not a quote, it's dialogue. Don't care.
Susan: “All right," said Susan. "I'm not stupid. You're saying humans need... fantasies to make life bearable."
*Death: REALLY? AS IF IT WAS SOME KIND OF PINK PILL? NO. HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN. TO BE THE PLACE WHERE THE FALLING ANGEL MEETS THE RISING APE.
Susan: "Tooth fairies? Hogfathers? Little—"
Death: YES. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START OUT LEARNING TO BELIEVE THE LITTLE LIES.
Susan: "So we can believe the big ones?"
Death: YES. JUSTICE. MERCY. DUTY. THAT SORT OF THING.
Susan: "They're not the same at all!"
Death: YOU THINK SO? THEN TAKE THE UNIVERSE AND GRIND IT DOWN TO THE FINEST POWDER AND SIEVE IT THROUGH THE FINEST SIEVE AND THEN SHOW ME ONE ATOM OF JUSTICE, ONE MOLECULE OF MERCY. AND YET — Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME...SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED.
Susan: "Yes, but people have got to believe that, or what's the point—"
Death: MY POINT EXACTLY.Also
And then Jack chopped down what was the world's last beanstalk, adding murder and ecological terrorism to the theft, enticement, and trespass charges already mentioned, and all the giant's children didn't have a daddy anymore. But he got away with it and lived happily ever after, without so much as a guilty twinge about what he had done...which proves that you can be excused for just about anything if you are a hero, because no one asks inconvenient questions.

“But you can't make people listen. They have to come round in their own time, wondering what happened and why the world blew up around them.”
"We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but everyone made equal. Each man the image of every other; then all are happy, for there are no mountains to make them cower, to judge themselves against."
"Remember the firemen are rarely necessary. The public stopped reading of its own accord. You firemen provide a circus now and then at which buildings are set off and crowds gather for the pretty blaze, but its a small sideshow indeed, and hardly necessary to keep things in line. So few want to be rebels anymore. And out of those few, most, like myself, scare easily."
"It didn't come from the Government down. There was no dictum, no declaration, no censorship, to start with, no! Technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure carried the trick, thank God. Today, thanks to them, you can stay happy all the time, you are allowed to read comics, the good old confessions, or trade journals."
- 'Farenheit 451', Ray Bradbury.
I could probably just copypasta the whole damn book; so much of it is so very accurate as to how the world is today; and so very misunderstood unless you've sat down and read it. Most telling, though, is something the author himself wrote about it - and keep in mind, the book was written in 1953:
'In writing the short novel Fahrenheit 451, I thought I was describing a world that might evolve in four or five decades. But only a few weeks ago, in Beverly Hills one night, a husband and wife passed me, walking their dog. I stood staring after them, absolutely stunned. The woman held in one hand a small cigarette-package-sized radio, its antenna quivering. From this sprang tiny copper wires which ended in a dainty cone plugged into her right ear. There she was, oblivious to man and dog, listening to far winds and whispers and soap-opera cries, sleep-walking, helped up and down curbs by a husband who might just as well not have been there. This was not fiction'

I also use this very often on my character wiki pages. Go figure:
You're obliged to pretend respect for people and institutions you think absurd. You live attached in a cowardly fashion to moral and social conventions you despise, condemn, and know lack all foundation. It is that permanent contradiction between your ideas and desires and all the dead formalities and vain pretenses of your civilization which makes you sad, troubled and unbalanced. In that intolerable conflict you lose all joy of life and all feeling of personality, because at every moment they suppress and restrain and check the free play of your powers. That's the poisoned and mortal wound of the civilized world.

No one else here has a growing document of usable quotes for future character inspiration and wiki pages? I know it ain't so.

I just hit up https://www.brainyquote.com/, tap a few topics relevant to the character, grab a dozen or so quotes, shuffle through them to find the ones that feel right and steadily drill down until I get the ones I want.
If I tried to keep a document it'd be too massive and unwieldy.

Two of my favorites, also from Sir Terry, one from perhaps his most well-regarded, Night Watch:
As soon as you saw people as things to be measured, they didn't measure up.
And from Thief of Time, one of his less-beloved, but one that holds a special place in my heart:
WE MUST DO WHAT WE CAN.
"And if that doesn't work?"[...]
THEN WE DID WHAT WE COULD, he said, UNTIL WE COULD NOT. -

I keep the best of what I ran across books, web pages or even lyrics because sooner or later they will come in handy. I'd say I have about 30-40 of those, some more readily usable than others.

Well, like I said earlier, I do keep a commonplace book and a collection of quotes on index cards:
Box of quotes (not all of those are quotes; the back half is spare index cards).
Book (loose pages are recipes that haven't been transcribed yet; book is more than just quotes, it's all sorts of important stuff).
Pen case is pens, misc. stuff, and has index cards for... numerous purposes. Sometimes new quotes, sometimes beginning to plot new stories/scripts, sometimes you just need index cards!
