Purple actually looks really, really awesome with brown eyes. I'm a fan of shimmery gold olive greens, too.

If you want to try it out without fully committing, go for a neutral, nude-ish shimmer shadow and then pop on something brighter as an eyeliner color. I get a surprising number of compliments when I do that and it also spares me the frustration of feeling like I put a lot of effort into an eye look that I just end up hiding behind my computer glasses.

I love this color in general! If you know of any good (affordable) palettes with it, lemme know. >.>

BH Cosmetics has a decent formula and is always affordable. Moreso now with a big BF sale. This one has some very neutral olives, but they have a lot of palettes:

@auspice Ugh. There was a cheap one from Sephora's brand I was going to recommend to you that looks like it's been discontinued. It was all different shades of golden-green from very light to almost black, though I never used the darkest one because I'm very pale and inherited the circles my dad has under his eyes. Smokey eye very quickly turns into 'raccoon hooker' on me, but the rest of the palette was very pretty.

                Awwww.

Why must they discontinue the good things?!

Due to my anemia, I actually am losing coloration in various places. Under my eyes is one. So I have PALE CIRCLES under my eyes. I sometimes have to dab concealer under them or else I look weird in the opposite direction. I never expected that. I always expected to go the dark circles route. NEWP.

(My hands are also going spotty in a few places as I lose pigmentation in random spots. Thanks anemia!)

But it does mean I am not as worried about going dark. I've been finally experimenting VERY VERY VERY VERY (oh so very) gently with more smoky eye looks. I HAVE EVEN PUT THE SHADOW UNDER MY EYES GUIZ.

@auspice It's not actually yellow. It's a glorious shimmery peridot green. Source: I own this palette. ❤

I do not own this palette, but I do own some of Nyx's "Avant <Whatever>" palettes, and the purple version of their "Love in Paris".

                    Perfect Filter in Olive You

It's well reviewed, has a pair of decent looking shimmery olive-ish greens in it, and some other nice neutral colors for a look that won't read like my "I'm wearing green with green and some other green and if you think I look like a clown you can get fucked because I like this" look. Bonus? Nyx is having a 30% off everything on their site sale this weekend. I'm stocking up on my daily use products like I did with my hair stuff at BOGO prices from Ulta.

If you have never tried Baby Foot and are curious, I am my second or third use of them in as many winters.

I can confirm that they work as well as all the ads claim. I can also confirm that the peeling process is absolutely revolting.

I have considered trying it! Good to hear that it does work well.

@auspice It does take a while. Like, just when you look back at the "5-7 days later" on the box and decide that this is bullshit and is never going to work, your feet suddenly begin peeling like the worst sunburn you've ever had x100, leaving you astounded at just how much skin you actually have.

Personally, I do this in the winter because I am more likely to be wearing shoes that cover my entire foot, thus preventing my co-workers from thinking I have some sort of horrifying medical condition. About a week after that, every bit of callous you've had has vanished into the ether.

Magic! By which I mean alpha-hydroxy acids.

Anyone have a good recommendation for a concealer I could use around my eyes? I have an issue not with dark circles, but with paleness. I think it's caused by my anemia (pretty sure... I get patches where I've lost color in other areas, too; few spots on my hands for example), but it's made it difficult to wear makeup lately. Just foundation won't even things out properly, so I think I need a concealer first. 😕

So I decided to try FabFitFun (I have codes for free boxes if anyone wants btw) and in my first box I got a set of those 'invisibobble' hair ties?

                                      They are legit. Not gimicky.

They manage to hold the hair securely in such a way that they don't slip but also don't grip so tightly as to cause headaches (a common issue for me). I don't know how long it takes them to wear out, but considering how fast common hair elastics can wear out or break....
