      @arkandel

Continuing my "day of irony", the religious part of Christmas was originally relocated on the calendar to push out a different religion.

I bought myself $50 of Steam Sales. It was hard to keep myself to $50.

@arkandel D and I don't celebrate, partly because we're not xtian, and partly because december is THE worst month for us financially. So it may just be that folks are tight at that time of the month and thus don't get anything and are saying 'we don't celebrate' instead of 'sorry our broke asses are broke'. It's annoying because of the deals right around that time, too.

Usually the start of January is a boost for us so we often get stuff (like my instant pot) then.

I see a lot of deals around the new year & February, too, so nothing wrong with that!

I'm waiting for my tax info to come in for work so I can get that done ASAP. I've got my fingers crossed for electronic sales in Feb. Some years they happen!

I bought good walking boots. I did not realise how much effort I was putting into not falling over on the dog walks until now.

I would like watch recommendations. Affordable (for as much as I'd like a smart watch, my budget cannot withstand the cost) watches. Digital or analog. The primary requirement I have is that it not be too large (smaller hands/wrists and all) and that I'm able to invert the band so I can comfortably wear it inside my wrist rather than outside.

Also, you gave primary requirements, but what are the nice-to-haves? For instance, is a stopwatch useful to you, or is a countdown timer more relevant to your use cases?

I'd really like to stay under $50. I go over $50 and I might as well just start setting aside money for a smart watch (which I may do long-term, but this is something I need short-term).

@Sparks - A countdown timer would likely be nicer to have than a stopwatch, but that could be handy, too. I didn't think of those because primary use really is, well, telling time. Something, however, that displays the date could be handy, too. And if it's advanced enough to handle multiple timezones that could also be good.

@Auspice — Armitron Sport, ~$25. Time/date, two timezones, countdown timer, stopwatch.

That would likely work! Thank you. 🙂

My one point of vanity is my nails. I recently realized that for the price of one salon manicure, I could get everything I wanted to do my own gel nails at home, including special UV protection gloves to protect my skin. Happy Tek is happy.

Now that I'm past the insane stress/depression of the winter and spring, my nails aren't shredding anymore and I can paint them again. It's made me p happy. 🙂

I never really decided how I felt about the magnetic stuff.

Stamps and templates are also a lot of fun. 😄

@Auspice Oh, I've done vinyls and wraps before. Right now, I really like Espionage Cosmetics for those. It's stamps that I've never really tried.

                                          These aren't like Espionage's. They're more like a stencil.

You stick it to your nail, paint over it, then peel it off: voila, pattern applied!
They were sort of the evolution from stamps (which are finicky to get right, but fun!).
