@Auspice i have a box full of notebooks. i have 3 spiral notebooks on/in my work desk RIGHT NOW
I have one shelf of my bookshelves at home of just notebooks, but there's more on the built-in shelving behind my desk. My backpack and purse both have a notebook (.... I think the backpack has 3 tbh) in them.
My work desk has..... 2 notebooks and 2 legal pads. >.>
I tried bullet journaling and it just turned into lists. IT DOESN'T END BUT IT ALSO DOESN'T HELP.

I self advocated! And it worked! I was a little blunt and firm and used words like 'unacceptable' and 'would like to be acknowledged as a partner in my mental health' and 'I don't feel like you are listening to me'. So now I will soon get non stimulant ADHD meds!!!
(because Kaiser hates cannabis and wont gimme stimulants lest I am 100% pee test clean. And as a former daily user who is overweight, tha'll take a bit.)
So, woo!
I have a medical cannabis card because my state does that. It's for migraines, but I've seen strains labeled as helping with ADHD and thought that has to be nonsense (I have ADHD and have been on and off stimulant medication since diagnosis in high school.) HOWEVER as it turns out the pot for adhd thing wasn't nonsense. There are a few that get me focused as anything, and can get a ton accomplished.

Last week was... Different.
I finished my first month on meds for ADHD. Got my next month approved on the very last day. Tried a different pharmacy to save cash because I am teh poors, and they made me wait a week before they'd fill it. So, that was a week without the meds. I did that for decades, how hard could it be?
Turns out, having had a month with treatment made me acutely aware of how bad my symptoms are without it. There were two times in that month I missed a day, it wasn't so bad. Turns out, the meds are still low-key in your system the next day. After you hit 48 hours they're completely gone.
I'm now questioning how I even survived. Was I a functioning adult before? Or did I just happen to shamble through and flash the right gang signs to convince everyone?
It has been an hour. One, hour, today. That I have been at work. I have been mushing the entire time, watching anime, and reading emails.
Yet DESPITE that, I've also gotten more work done in this hour than I did all of last week.
I can't even at myself.
Yikes that is no fun. When I get my scrip filled late now I find that it makes my depression worse too. Annoying.

yeah it's not nonsense at all. I smoked pretty regularly for like 15 years, and during that 15 years I had no : insomnia, migraines, anxiety (the cause of the former), and didn't feel nearly as overwhelmed/scattered.
I stopped smoking and everything fell apart

:eyes the mountains post-its scattered all over the house, notebooks in drawers, backpacks, purses... so many notebooks:
No, I can't relate to that at all.

Yeah I have anxiety with ADHD (and migraines) I think they are a frequent team. Pot helps with both to be honest, and I'm hoping it will let me cut down on the prescription meds required to make my brain even mildly useful.

Once I've weened baby from nursing, I'm going to look into something like this (CBD related) but I just don't want to smoke or get the high because I'd hallucinate sometimes and I just don't have time for that. I just want less anxiety/body aches and more control over my ADHD that doesn't involve going back on Adderall even though that shit was like amazing for the short time I took it.

@Wretched So much this. “Oh my kid does X too and they don’t have ADD.” :headdesk: Aarrrgghhh.

This sort of thing actually makes me angrier with OCD.
Until you've been awake at 4am, in tears as you scrub floorboards... You do not have OCD. Everyone likes things a particular way, but not everyone is crippled by the need for certain things, habits, etc.
(Ever been mocked because you absolutely cannot at all handle a volume setting being anything other than a multiple of 5 (to the point you can't focus, can't think, and it's almost physically painful) and instead of just adjusting...the people you're with decide it's cool to make fun of you? I have. Many times in my life.)

@Auspice And you aren't Sooooooo bipolar, girl. You are just moody af.

@Wretched I feel that so hard. So hard. Finishing sentences is important.

yes, when i get really into
my poses it becomes a construction project jumping around till it's almost perfect and then i probably forgot to spell check and i press enter. -
@Wretched I had a half sentence just dangling in a paragraph earlier today in a post, so I feel you.
No one will ever be able to effectively fake my writing style because I swear I'm the only idiot that has posts or poses full of shit like:
The reason it's really important is because once you start

Then, the moment she's been waiting for finally arrives, and she
...not just intros. That'll be the whole damned thing, just dangling there making everyone just 'AND THEN?!' into the great beyond because it'll be three posts or poses later before I realize it happened if nobody outright asks.

@Wretched It sucks because at this point, I have now internalized the guilt over forgetting things because I’m so used to being made to feel guilty over it. So even when people do understand, I have to apologize repeatedly because it’s just conditioning at this point. So that’s fun.
