Power Rangers: Power of the Grid
-
Man, it's gonna be a race to see who gets to play the original six.
(Dibs on Kimberly) -
I'm no good to you from a code perspective, but I could do some grid layout and building, perhaps. Other non-code slavery at need.
-
Color me curious how you're going to integrate Riders? Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight wasn't terrible, and could be used as a jumping off point.
-
@Bobotron Basically, due to Drakkon's meddling with the Grid, it now contains pockets and bubbles of instability. These bubbles of 'Grid Energy' are detectable. Some enterprising scientists, of both good and not so good persuasion, have learned to stabilize these bubbles and at the same time tap into the power of the Morphin Grid.
For some reason, the only way to access these powers is via a ridiculous and thematic belt.
These belts end up in various hands because Reasons, and we have Kamen Riders.

Any updates to speak of?
-
@SquirrelTalk Still plugging away off and on. Nothing big to speak of. Life is often in the way of writing time, plus my other MU* stuff and whatnot. It'll get there.
-
Still real into the idea, if it's still a thing. ^^
-
@SquirrelTalk Same!
-
I'm heartened by the interest, but life is a bitch and I haven't had a lot of writing time. I'd still like to do it. Just need to get off my butt. ... Which might be hard with FF7 Remake tomorrow. >_>
-
Funny story. I tried opening a power rangers MUSH back in 2001, I was about 12 years old. It failed terribly but I was thinking about how it could make a fun MU nowadays.
-
@Gnome You've probably leveled up since then, to be fair.
-
So I bummed around a lot and only, uh, today started throwing a document together. Here's a link, commentable and probably against my better judgement, editable. Read it, comment, feel free to add shit. Please no delete.

@popes I see you mentioned developing a policy about the # of PCs needed to form a megazord and so on. It may also be worth mentioning how flexible you plan to be (hopefully very) re: the "color" makeup of any given ad-hoc team in a scene--for example, if you have 3 blue rangers and two yellow, or the like.
-
Just make them different shades of blue.
-
@fatefan I'm leaning towards 'Color doesn't matter, a wizard did it', because I would rather people have fun then be strict to canonicity and shit.
-
@popes I agree that this would be the best approach! The last thing I think anyone would want is to feel restricted in this way.
