let people like things.
-
I like the sound balloons make when they pop.
-
Fun facts:
POP is an onomatopoeia, but is also what people in the American Midwestern states incorrectly call soda.

You're from the midwest.
-
@Auspice Sadly, the amount of time I lived in Nebraska is now less than the amount of time I have lived in <REDACTED BOILY AS FUCK SW AMERICAN STATE>. This leads me to question if I still qualify as a Midwesterner.
I grew up calling it 'pop' and have successfully rehabilitated myself out of that silly habit.
I suppose like most people I'll be a local guy or a Midwesterner based on which sport I'm supporting at that moment. Kind of like how everyone is 1/55th Australian during the World Cup.
-
@Ghost LOL. I legit thought I was on the GIF Uno thread when I posted it. Now I just feel stupid about posting that.
-

I do not understand why people get up in arms about pop/soda/Coke. Except that "Coke" is a proper noun and should not be used as a collective noun.
Now excuse me, my allergies are making me sneeze my head off. Hand me some kleenex while I google a remedy.
-
My MSB peeve is that I often type out posts, then decide that no one gives a fuck about what I think and I don't care enough to post it regardless, so then I discard my post.

Don't forget to change your band-aid.
(The super weird ones are those who refer to all soda as Sprite. who are you and how did you get so broken?)
-
@PuppyBreath This isn't just you.
There is a group that's 'no one gives a fuck' and another of 'no one is going to actually read this, they'll read something else completely into it instead because apparently we're the hot take nation these days'.
-
These days?
I'm just glad the term "hot take" has come around so we can distance ourselves from it.
-
@Thenomain Here's hoping the distancing is more than lip service. Too often, it isn't.
It wouldn't be so worthy of slamming my head into a wall if people went with an initial gut reaction, then considered whatever it is. Instead, the hot take is all there is, and people marry that shit.

I concur.
I mean, I would love to eat the entirety of a Mongolian BBQ line, but I'd rather not shit myself.
-
My MSB peeve is the need to be a professional arguer in order to voice an opinion here. Some of us just think things and state the things we think imperfectly without meaning anything that may be incorrectly implied by choice of wording, omission, or any other element.
The defense rests.
-
Agreed. The nitpicking that goes on is...more than a little flat out stupid, and often lacks any sort of perspective.
No, folks, 'I prefer dogs' does not actually mean I want to put all cat owners to death, and 'I disagree with that' is not an insult or a personal attack or slinging shit.
Really.
-
@gryphter sorry, imperfection is only allowed for the people that aren't you.
-
Third group!
"What the fuck am I thinking, I'm a grown ass adult who doesn't need to put this nonsense on the internet."
(This was NOT a slight at you btw, you're tagged simply because it continues your conversation which had moved on just a little so I wanted to connect it to the previous conversation.)
-
@silverfox Oh, no worries! ...and yes, there are some of those, too.
