I have a 2E CoD Mage-only game that's soft opened. Metaplot started, and it's mage only that explores way more than your average mage game, if you wanna fuck with reality.

The political side is VERY VERY small. The MU* is mage only and is set at a magic university (think Brakebills) where the faculty have realized that with all the fuckups and hubris of all the magic casting world wide, that there's reality is now cracking.
The first signs of this crack are the appearance of five new watchtowers (more on that will be revealed in the metaplot), and the cracking of a sariras related to the realm of Stygia.
The faculty and student PCs are set on an expedition to find the chantry in Egypt (the legendary Library of Alexandria) to find out more, meet the ochemata of the archmage who left said sariras and figure out more about what's going on.
the address is: goldenroad.mudhosting.net 4201 if interested.
People can be a 1st year student (awakened ICly for one year-ish with standard chargen), a 3rd/4th year student (+15 XP with +1 academics/occult, and +5 dots worth of rotes), or a faculty (+40 XP with +2 academics/occult, and +10 dots worth of rotes).

@RDC We USED to have a 'all active games' thread somewhere, which I'll try to dig up (it may need updating, too. Didn't we want a wiki sort of placea? A new, freshly updated kind of MudConnector? I forget!)
But there's also Shadowrun: Denver, Star Wars: Age of Alliances, and Serenity is still up and kicking the last timeI glanced in their direction (and was shot down from trying to bribe someone for a copy of their space code, RIP)
ETA: Holy shit, that thread hasn't been touched in like. Over 4 years. What is time?

I think you were looking for this one:

@Auspice Cool, I am not going as crazy as I thought. Still. Dat wiki plan should still maybe be a thing.

There's Ithir MUSH if you want to explore a new world as an elf.

I don't think CoD games as a genre are dead, and honestly I think if you put one up there would be plenty of interest.
I think maybe some of the old fogeys might be a little burnt out on them (I put myself in that category), but i dont think that is even a majority, and I know of at least one game in development.

@RDC
I totally understand this issue and I'm sorry.
The last time I'd looked into opening a game (before SGM), I had a whole bunch of people jump up offering to help Staff. But because Faraday has done such an excellent job with Ares, there's not a terrible amount of overhead needed once things are moving.
So every person who offered, I told: I will be requiring every Staffer to run plot.
And every single one backed out.
I think there are plenty of people who do just as you say. They want the access and accolades, but balk at the actual work. Considering how many of the above were/are friends, I was kind of disappointed!
I wish I had a solution, but I don't. Ares can be run solo: Faraday and others have done it. But a WoD game absolutely needs a staffing team. And I see no issue with demanding that people who staff actually put the work in.
That said, if you do want to get NOLA moving again... Just take it one bit at a time. I know the whole can be a lot (esp under depression). For me, I keep a todo list and add everything I need to do for SGM to it. I try to knock out one or two a day, but with everything separated out I'm able to grab the ones I feel capable of and leave the others aside. This does mean I have an item that's sat there for a month now, but I also get others done sometimes the same day I add them.

Just to throw into the other side of "staff volunteers obvs just want accolades..."
GH put out a call for totally volunteer storytellers shortly after we opened, had about seven or eight people volunteer, never gave them any minimum requirements - basically just told them to run stories as much as they felt comfortable - and wound up with almost all of them being active, engaged STs. After about six months, we cycled through and had a few step down, brought another one on, leaving us with six currently.
It's totally voluntary. They don't get access to anything special. They just run their own plots, most of them with little to no oversight from @bear_necessities and me. I think the most we've ever been asked is to make sure something is thematic or doesn't overstep the meta-plot. Most STs run scenes about once a week, some several times a week.
All that to say: Don't lose hope. Good players who like telling stories are still out there. If you build it, they will come.
Or else we're super-lucky. Which is a possibility.

This is very true and in my still-sleepy posting, I should have said as much as well. On SGM, we require anyone who apps in as a Captain (highest ranking officer available in CG) to run something once a month. Can be social, can be a plot. It's the other side to having that shiny 'in charge of PCs' badge.
Those who have apped in there have been awesome about this.
But we have another player who jumped up to run something and it's been a great plot.
All we do on SGM is ask for an outline and that's largely just to make sure whatever's being done fits in with metaplot and isn't going to cause any issues with what Paradox and I have planned.
But I think @krmbm and I have some better luck by being non-WoD games. I feel like finding STs these days on WoD is a lot harder, unfortunately. I'm not sure if its burnout or just the way that community has shifted.

RDC had a game set in New Orleans, yes.
CoD is Chronicles of Darkness. An edition of World of Darkness.
