I loved reading the series too but those next books are totally never coming. Or only coming 5 years after no one is left to care.

The people who loved the books before the TV series will be there to care. I don't stop loving something just because it's no longer hyper-popular.

I need to hunt down the Pushing Daisies comics. It wouldn't be the same as the dulcet narration or surreal filming style, but it was a good show that was killed by the writer's strike and uncreative executives.

I was kind of being silly. I loved the books and will eagerly read the next one when it comes out. Even if TV has revealed parts of the story to come, there is a lot that is unaccounted for and I want to see where it goes.

I was just mocking Martin for fun.

Wait...Martin has fun? I guess that explains why the next book is not out yet.

He lives a well balanced life, creating immersive fantasy that geeks crave, and also watching the Giants obsessively. I'm still pretty sure the jocks beat him up in highschool.

So, geek fantasy (writing) and normal fantasy (sport). Gotcha.

I don't think the Flyers play hockey as much as they skate around aimlessly in the hopes that the puck will slide into their opponents' net.

                        Yes. I went there.

I was really tempted to make a Flyers joke but realized as a Blues fan ... and well glass houses all around.
Sad story of my hockey fandom I grew up a Northstars fan, then when they moved I picked another team, well since the Norris was the only division I cared about that limited my options. Blackhawks and Redwings were eliminated instantly from the proceedings leaving me the choice of Leafs or Blues. I picked Blues for Bret Hull.
The point of this story is that I made bad decisions in my teen years, but at least not bad enough to choose to cheer for the Mapleleafs.

I'd wish you a horrible death by fire and hepatitis, but my team has at least one 1 Stanley Cup in its history and has a trio of awesome rookies.

There's a reason why Backes and Oshie went elsewhere. They wanted to play for contenders.

                            Enjoy the season.

I miss Hockey Night in Canada on CBC. That's Good TV.

Now that we're back on topic, the Capitals took the President's Cup. They are a contender.

Not a winner, mind you, but that's hockey.

I too miss Hockey Night in Canada. I grew up close enough to the boarder that we could get Canadian shows during the days of broadcast.

While the are great in the regular season I just can't see the Caps as contenders they are the NHL version of the Atlanta Hawks to me.
