@kestrel Dogs are great at that. Logan makes me laugh EVERY day, even when I'm at my absolute low.

If people wanna know what I'm pushing back my order times by two weeks.

This is just until we figure out a proper schedule. I had a melt down this morning because I have a lot of drawings I want to get finished (because I love doing all this art, there is zero sarcasm in that, it helps my mental health so much you guys don't even know) and I can't do that and be the usual homemaker/mother/wife person because omg I have two new furry babies and-

        But I'm doing better now.

We had a vet visit today and they both buried their faces under my chin and into my neck and suddenly everything was okay.

I wish I knew how to share my photos somewhere so I can link them here because my fuzz-kids have made me so much more mellow.

          I'll bet y'all motherfuckers noticed.

@ganymede Heck, I made a private Discord server just to dump photos into for this purpose.

            Like this one!

I swear I never click on random web page ads. I just don't.

But the other day there was a sale for Marvel Unlimited. It was like $50 for a year with a free week before I had to pay, so even though I hadn't read comics in ages I was bored enough to try it. Reading comics on my phone? That didn't seem like fun.

... I've been consuming entire series of New Avengers and Avengers. Damn best money I've spent in a while and it hasn't even been ten days yet. The Incursion series was so damn good! And there's a whole shitload of content there left.

The best part is the app itself. Instead of just lazily displaying one page at a time (and good luck reading that on a small screen) the interface is actually amazing - it auto-focuses on different parts each time I flip forward, making it really good to read. It'd probably be much better on a tablet but mine is ancient and slow as hell. 🙂

Although I had no time in the past 72 hours to play Arx, and therefore missed the high action, I did manage to nearly complete my front and side yard landscaping, which means my partner is very happy, and my body is completely broken.

My husband. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I picked a good one.

                        What prompted me this time?

                        Me: "I donated another $100 to X."
                        Him: "Good."

He could freak out that I've blown almost half his paycheck on charities in the last two days, but no. His only response every time is just "Good." And as long as we can pay our bills, I know he'd have the same reaction to me saying I donated ten times that to anything we both support.

He is a precious baby angel, when I don't want to choke the ever-living shit out of him. ❤

                                My local car shop.

So, I live an hour from the nearest town, and there are literally only 2 different companies in this village. One is a restaurant along the high way - where they have amazing food, and actual chefs, and that is fully booked every day. Neighboring them is a car shop that has been there since forever, in fact, the current owner is the son to the one that started this place up. My family has bought their cars there since that place opened, and since I moved back home, I've been buying 2 cars from them as well.

So, I booked service on it, cause it was coming up, and I asked to have it washed and cleaned (inside and outside) at the same time. But yesterday they called me and said they wouldn't have time to wash it, they were overwhelmed with work. I didn't have a problem with that at all, I'd just rebook it for some day soon.

Went to pick the car up today, and was paying, and it was just the service I was gonna pay for, since they'd cancelled the washing. Went out to get my car - and the car is all clean, outside and inside. So, I of course go inside to let them know it was washed after all, and I wanted to pay for it, since there clearly had been a misunderstanding.

Now, any regular shop anywhere else would of course accept my money. They? They just went 'Nah, it's fine. If you want you can bring some 'fikabröd' (pastries/cookies/similar) some day.' So, I said I would definitely bring over some fikabröd soon.

I don't know if it is the power of Swedish Fika in play here, or if it's cause my family and I are loyal customers, but man, that felt nice. The wash should have cost 500 SEK, roughly 60 dollars, so that was a fair chunk of money they just let me keep.

I'm gonna bring over some seriously good fikabröd.

I watched my baby cousin graduate from college today. Granted, it was via live webcast because Obvious Reasons (tm), but still....

This is the same cousin who lost her mother rather suddenly and horribly last summer, her mother who tried to be a mother to me when my own mom was, well.... yeah.

And this kid. This fucking kid.

Not only did she manage to finish out her senior year despite the chaos of the pandemic, despite the heartbreak of her mother's awful death....

She graduated magna cum laude. And was too modest to tell anyone before it was called by the dean.

I ate buttered noodles with garlic and a little parmesan cheese today. Not because it was all I could afford, but because I sort of had a craving for it.

Probably been a good 10 years since I'd had that.
