I made scones for brunch today. Scones are amazing. That is all.
-
Annual leave. Two weeks with himself, friends and the dog, in Devon.
-
Also festival season in my local area! I'll be in a muddy field listening to music. Most of the summer

I found the bluetooth headphones I'd tossed into a basket randomly god-knows-how-long-ago because one of the sides was getting tinny-crackly (I mean I'd had them 2.5 years and they only cost $25 - I'D SAY I GOT MY MONEY'S WORTH)... Tried them out and whatever the issue was SEEMS to have cleared up.
This pleases me so much. I'm tired of trying to get through my day with the headphones that come packaged with the iPhone.

When it's 104°F with 30% humidity and you feel a drop of rain on your arm...

It's not a gif. It's a jpg.
Otherwise I would have posted the animated gif version

It is nice to have someone say "I wish you worked 24 hours a day because you make things run so much better when you are around."

Just read that in early August there is going to be a LARP at a campground called "Survive Jason". Basically, one player is Jason and everyone else sees if they can survive the night.
A few things:
- I would absolutely do this
- This is absolutely a Knights of Badassdom scenario where people could probably get actually killed and people will think it's fake for 2-3 hours.
Afterthought: You know, people being awkward as they are, I wonder if a couple ACTUALLY HAVING SEX would do the opposite of the movie scenario. In the movies, you fuck you DAI.
In real life, the guy playing Jason might go "Uhhhhhhhh okay this is awkward and weird and I don't know if it would be creepy to go in there while theyre doing that sooooooooo..."

I would 100% do this.
Because I'm the brunette and they have a higher chance of survival.....because no one ever wants to fuck them.

Storms. Beautiful lightning storm overhead tonight! Edit to add picture of storm front
-
Being able to buy enough groceries to have a full freezer and pantry is like a weight being lifted off my shoulders.
-
@JinShei Yes! My home is also in that picture (though not the centre of it), and I had a lovely view of the storm in the clouds!

So beautiful! I was rather glad we live on a hill though, given the torrent of water that flooded down it.

Libraries are awesome and the Austin library is no different.
They've been putting on these Stranger Things escape rooms. There was a cancelation for one today (I'd been too late in the initial sign up and they were sold out), so I hiked it to South Austin to go (I usually don't go to the south side) and man I'm glad I did.
It was a lot of fun. The other players were great. If you felt like you were hitting a wall on a puzzle, handing it off to someone else tended to work (at one point I handed off one that made no sense to me and went back to a book that'd been abandoned by everyone and found things that'd been missed, solving the puzzle).
They apparently have a Cthulhu themed one they'll be doing so I signed up for email alerts once it goes.
Def a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Crying happy tears, my favorite dog at the shelter (drop dead gorgeous shepherd/husky/whatever mix) finally got adopted. He is 14 but you would never know it, even his teeth are pristine and while he is super chill and old man in the sense he liked just hanging out and getting scratched/petted, he still liked to play and chase too. If I didn't have cats he would have been mine, fell in love with him even before I volunteered. I'm glad that I got to spend a lot of time with him the last time I volunteered (brushing the equivalent of another large dog of fur out of him) and getting cuddles, but I am also happy and hope I never see him again. His new people are the luckiest ever.
