Talking to @Herja on the phone several times a week, one of the few good things to come out of this pandemic. I know it's silly, but she has the most soothing, sweetest voice, and with not being able to see each other, getting out of text now and then to talk has been really great. She calms me down when I think I'm gonna lose my shit (being stuck at home, dealing with homeschooling my kids, living with my parents while we shop for a hoouuuse) with this commanding, chill-the-fuck-out-SinCerely voice that's less like mom-tone and more like Dominatrix-mode (but not like that). Making it a habit to actually speak to each other was probably the best idea ever.
10/10 would recommend.

Saturday self-indulgence:
- 1 teaspoon salted caramel cocoa mix
- 1 teaspoon sugar in the raw
- heavy cream
(mix, froth to make flavored whipped cream with little coffee frother aerolatte widget)
Add fresh coffee, watch merrily froth.
Ooof. Yeah, that's the stuff. I'll definitely be awake soon at this rate. Awyiss.

Do we all need to call @Herja or are we allowed to speak to other people?
-
@Ifrit I mean you can do what you want but I have my favorites.

I mean, I think you had everyone at 'sweetest, soothingest dominatrix'.

Taught my son how to mow the lawn this weekend. The hard way. Basically, the benefits and value of hard work. Followed by him cooking dinner on his own this evening. I'm loving the teachable moments!

War for Cybertron Transformers toys.
They are just ... awesome.

Cats are cats. They have figured out where their food is coming from, and if there is no food, they will come and "ask" for it.
Yeah, they came and asked for food yesterday when they could see the bottom of the bowl. Cats.

Starting Arabic lessons tomorrow! Next time I go on dig, I won't say dumb shit accidentally! From now on, all of the dumb shit I say will be 100% intentional.
-
@tek ...I hope you send us pictures when you do. I mean. That's an official cool thing most people never get to do!
-
@surreality I can share some pics from my last couple of digs if you want.
-
@tek Yes plz!

Digs are always so hilarious like that. Maybe not in Egypt where I'm told there are generations of diggers in the local area so they might all speak the same language, but when I was in Crete most of the senior staff spoke Greek and English, which was fine, but then the laborers they hired were from Armenia and while they were great with a pickaxe they took down EVERYTHING so we hastily had to learn 'good rock' and 'bad rock' in Armenian to get them to not take down the ancient rock walls we wanted to record first.
-
@Quinn My Arabic is so bad that I end up saying shit like "this dog is a doctor" and "I am a rock with a library".
-
@tek I will see your dog doctor and raise you "that time I accidentally told the head of the Italian department that I have 19 butts".
-

that I have 19 butts".
Don't worry though, we don't kink shame here.
