It's 2021. Do we seriously still have to deal with Bury Your Gays?

The whole fucking slate save for one? At the beginning of the season?

Jesus.

I remember being so excited at the end of the first season to see where this one went. And I can honestly say, having gotten to the end of the second season -- I kind of hope this one is over, despite my love for KS and the story from S1.

Disappointing.

I am GREATLY Peeved that Lower Decks is vewed as lesser than Live Action Star Trek. The Season 2 Finale is some of the BEST Star Trek in recent years, and it has had some quality competition, too.

On the one hand, I am deeply amused by the idea of "what if Family Guy was in space," given Seth Macfarlane's open desire to do exactly that.

On the other hand, and I know how petty this is, the proportions of the characters just upsets me. I know it's just a stylistic choice, but it gets under my skin in a way I did not expect.

I grew up reading Isaac Asimov's Foundation. Words cannot express how much I love that series, or the impact it had on young-Arkandel growing up.

It all appealed to me. The idea of this vast, sprawling universe set in the vast future where humanity has spread to the stars but forgot where Earth resided, and the concepts it introduced to define what humanity even means. The way it drove the point - again and again - of intellectualism being nearly synonymous with pacifism ("violence is the last resort of the incompetent"), and the manner its characters as well as the plot showcased it.

And then I watched the first episode of Apple's Foundation. Special ops teams coming in, guns blazing! Explosions! Poolside sex scenes! Right in the first ten minutes!

... Sigh.

@arkandel Thank you for the heads up. I was debating on getting apple TV for this. The books are a big part of my upbringing. My father and I use to read them to each other, it is one of the books besides the hobbit and Lord of the Rings he used to teach me to read. Also, make sure I was nerdy for life.
