City of Shadows, LF a +1

Looking for someone to play the Childe of my character. They would have been a Daeva, Embraced about five years ago and are male, were embraced for their resemblance so dark hair and blue eyes but other than that left it pretty vague. If interested I can give more detail as to what they might have seen if they stayed with the character during that time.

Any particular Covenant or Bloodline that you had in mind? Any goals for the duo? Is this expected to be a platonic relationship? The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for you.
@Taika can probably provide some more info too.

@Derp currently the character is doing Invictus stuff but also has strong ties to the Circle of the Crone. Bloodline is the Carnival but not necessarily something tje character is super open about. Not much in the way of plans as I am waiting for approval to be finalized and so don't have anything brewing on grid yet. Platonic or not is kinda flexible. There are no expectations of romantic interest but my particular character is fairly touchy feely for a vampire and a daeva level flirt. She actually has a love interest of sorts already but that is very nebulous due to the sort of hanging all over and flirting and it never having been an exclusive thing. Really as a player I am looking for someone who wants to do like odd dynasty shit. I have never had the chancs to explore that element of WoD and it is a fascinating one that I have seen other people really seem to enjoy. As Sires go she is probably more loose on ths reigns so to speak than many, like, that is part of why I made it so broad as to where they even might be. She spent her mortal life in almost Victorian times and most of her Requiem subjugated by a rival covenant so no desire to make another vampire only to have them feel penned in, if that makes sense. Said other player currently as love interest is hardcore Circle, and is her broodmate so it would be sort of a tighter three person dynamic than usual but not necessarily romantic unless it shakes out that way organically once in game. Sorry for rambling, but excited. It's been a while since I have played a WoD game much and looking forward to it but not trying to put too many preconceived goals or hopes because that is the way to get them shattered. I know for her personally probably one of her more immediate goals would be repairing relations between her and the Circle.

@Bellecourt For sure. Hit me up in the next day or two. Between being done with vending prep and vending and the youngest starting school this year my time time should open up a ton in the next two weeks ^.^

You may want to check out the website Taika has in her profile too. My understanding is that they are using different-than-normal bloodlines, so I don't think The Carnival is available, although the Blood Brothers are a close analogy.
-
@Ganymede that was the one I chose, bit I used the Carnival here because it was the closest match and what it was based on. Also, I see it said you did the writeup. It rocks.
-
Thank you.
The write-ups actually come from another game I worked with @Taika on. I've been meaning to ask her if she wanted me to re-write the descriptions so as to better fit what City of Shadows is like, but it's been a few years, and I don't think it matters a whole lot.
If you're looking for a dynastic feel, though, you might want to check out the Myrmex. They were based on the Melissidae, but have more of a evangelistic cult-ish feel to them.
-
@Ganymede >.> That'd be epic <.< Doing a clean up/re-work to pull the post-apoc references is on the to-do list, I just won't really have time to do it until after school starts and it's kind of low on the list compared to some other things (looking at you, crafting system.)
-
@Taika Crafting system, huh? I sympathize.
-
You know, I have a crafting system lying around my hard drive somewhere, right? And I can clean up your write-ups because I have all of them.
And my free time will dry up once I start teaching in the fall.
-
@Ganymede crafting system?
swoons

@Ganymede makes grabby hands Worst case, it'd be a good place to start. I'm currently spitballing something like a set list of mods with a point cost, then a time/resource cost based on how much +# there is, with the mod-points capping at Crafts skill level wth a required '1/2 of total mod points, round up' in negatives. And some wiggle room for crazy ideas that can get some on-the-fly point cost assigned.
For example: A +3 gun with 8-again (2pt mod) (stepped down from a natural 9-again) would have a minimum 3 weeks time, cost 3 +resource points, and have 1pt flaw to it. Loosely. It's barely a formed idea, let alone a system, just yet.
Trying to keep it simple and streamlined, be flexible and hard(ish) to abuse and flood the game with crazy stuff is proving tricksy.
-
I think that modified weapons should at a minimum cost XP and come in the form of a merit. Otherwise, people are going to make them with impunity.

@Taika ^^^What Ganymede said.^^^
I've been the gear staffer on a few places, and played a crafter where there were rules for doing at least two decades.
Gear is part of player character balance. Players have time, typically have all the money needed, and are driven.
I don't know what all limits gear on Arx, which has a strongly tiered gear/skill/resources setup, but players from there may have experiences and insights to share.

I'm still looking to fill this role if anyone is interested in playing a fairly new to the nightlife (5 years) vampire with some older connections and a coterie already on grid to kick it with.
