@tinuviel There's a version that they play at the BF's store that really is full blown ".....What the fuck?", hence the comment about it being roofies. Unfortunately, the playlist is dictated by the corporate office, so even he's like "........" every time he has to hear it.

@aria It's not punk, but it's good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CeY0VdhXK8

@aria They seem to have taken it out this year! So there's that.
It's the Idina Menzel/Michael Bublé one. They have a spoken bit at 1:19 where she says 'you're very pushy you know' and he says 'I like to think of it as opportunistic' and I die a little inside.

Our insurance is changing again.
Our choices are due today.
Guess when the husband mentions this?...just after lunch.
So I look over the options and tell him there's no way around going for the second tier one for our needs.
"I wanna go with the cheaper one!"
"..the one with the $4k prescription deductible? That still leaves 20% after that, vs. '$15 for generics' across the board with no deductible?"
"Yeah."
"...would have been nice to know this before I started on a $250/month generic that is actually working."
"Oh. But... do you need it?"
"Only if I'd like to stay sane and/or alive?"
"Well, can we talk about it?"FML.

Your husband sounds nice and cool, but also horridly stupid.
I don't fuck around with my partner's health, and neither should he.
-
@ganymede He is also healthy as a horse, so these things just don't occur to him, for the most part.

So'm I. The things that kill me do so rapidly.

It's not even December yet and I'm already tired of christmas music.
At where I work, we didn't put on Christmas music. Apparently our system needs restarted to fix a problem with the Sirius/XM box, and the other managers aren't telling this to the general manager or facilities manager, so it's stuck on the current channel.
This will be mysteriously fixed on December 2nd.
Sometimes I love my job.

I'm with Gany.

@coin I did math at him until he relented.
The math that baffled and eluded him when I tried to describe it was abundantly clear inside 5 minutes.
It was that glaringly obvious. The 'more expensive option' will save us, default, a minimum of $1k/year, on prescriptions alone.
Even if we dedicate that $1k/year to a dental-only addition, we're ahead of where we would have been otherwise.

Contractors who semi-ghost on the project they were hired for, and then abruptly drop a "so I have to leave the area for a prolonged time and have to quit, sorry" note to you with no warning.
The person in question seemed nice enough, but I'm still kind of cheesed over the situation.
-
@aria can I please have that? Not retail but the mother in law is coming for Christmas....

Realizing that you've let someone treat you crappily for a fair amount of time while kind of making excuses for it. While you are such a vocal proponent for healthy boundaries and expectations for how you let people treat you!! God it is so frustrating.
-
@Roz Having had that happen often enough myself, I'm sorry you're having to deal with it. It is a deeply shitty feeling.
If you are tempted to beat yourself up about it, please don't, and remember to be gentle with yourself on this front. Some folks are really good at slipping under the radar, and only hindsight is ever going to have a chance at being 20/20.
-
@surreality It's not something I encounter often with myself, because I tend to be pretty aggressive about my boundaries, and really upfront in my communication when I feel like somebody's being a jerk to me. But -- yeah, feelings got involved here, and so I didn't really defend my own feelings as much as I usually do. In the end, my heart feels pretty bruised, and it's lingering in a really frustrating way, but I'm mostly angry at the other person rather than myself. (Mostly.)

Dear dentist: when I ask you, "What is this the total comprehensive cost of what you are proposing going to be?"
And you tell me $28k, giving me an on the spot panic attack already with that shit, and go on with examples of how 'if we bought a $28k car it wouldn't allow as much time to pay off' and similar?
Don't you fucking dare come back to me and say, "oops, I meant for each row, so it's actually $56k total," after we go see the guy you recommended for the consult.
Holy motherfucking fuck you, man.

@surreality One day i'll be able to afford wisdom teeth removal... one day. Until that day, ow.
