Don't forget to take your power cores with you when you leave it somewhere, or your settlers will hop in it and take it for a joyride.
This means powerful NPCs, which is great because NPCs don't use up power cores, but when the segment of the map gets unloaded the power armor disappears.

That DLC artwork is amazing.

Three DLCs announced, two The Sims add-ons and one adventure. The adventure is almost as much as the add-on pack (until the 1st), meaning I might as well get the Season Pass and hope there's more adventuring and storyline to be had.

After starting out with this on the PS4, I've been enjoying playing it on my new laptop. It's not a top-of-the-line gaming desktop with uber-powerful processing and graphics, but I can still run it on mostly High settings with a number of mods and pull around 30-35 FPS in the areas I've explored so far (not all of Boston, yet), and often around 50 or so indoors. That's good enough for me, especially at 1080p, if I can't run the thing on Ultra settings.
The nice thing is FNV runs exceptionally well at 60 FPS on Ultra settings, even with a bunch of texture mods installed. I'm not surprised given the fact it's older, but I have a feeling I'll get some solid performance out of Skyrim as well. I went on a little buying binge recently thanks to some sales.
Looking forward to the DLC content, too.

@Thenomain Get the season pass now if you want it, it's going to go up in price March 1st (for everyone who didn't click on the link).
-
I'm waiting a bit to see if I get into the DLC Beta. You never know.
-
Just a reminder to people if they don't get into the DLC beta and still want to get this before the price goes up, I have a 20% off code for GMG if you want to buy the season pass before they raise the price. (Especially if you are in Canada where we have to pay USD. )
PM me!
-
Dang, I'd already picked up my season pass... nice little 6$ break, oh well.
-
So, I started playing this the other day. After 4 hours, I was reminded as to why I started playing -- and am still playing -- The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt.
It's a bad sign to be bored in 4 hours. I'm getting old and impatient.
-
I've found that each time I play through I go do a different thing and it helps. Like this last time I played I went through and did all of the minutemen to getting the special home base unlocked before I ever went after my kid. Not very motherly of me I know but.. You can also just run through the main game, and then explore everything else afterwards because it doesn't end. I spent a lot of time just exploring the glowing sea as well.
Also, like most things Bethesda, mod's make the game much prettier, and much more enjoyable. Kind of a shame that the community is so much better at certain things than the main company but, that's where it is... for me anyways.

There are a lot of mods out there Gany that make it better. Granted - Bethesda shouldn't rely on the mod community to fix and improve their game. But they did. I recommend going to Nexusmods to look some up.

Will those mods turn an otherwise dull world into something interesting? Will it make the hit-registration of my melee weapons better or faster? Will it allow me to dodge an attack?
Will it provide me with a lot of gratuitous nudity?
Not that the latter means anything, but I was simply reminded of why I like games with less open-endedness and more storyline. Also, fuck Avallac'h.
-
@Ganymede Actually, yes to all of those.
EDIT: And the modders don't even have the tools to /really/ mod the game yet.

Alas, I play the PS4. So, I may have a problem, yes?
-
@Ganymede Oh. Possibly. Even probably. I don't console so have no idea about mods on one of those.

Yes there are mods that actually add more color to the world and improve the general textures of the environment. Will it make the hit-registration of my melee weapons better or faster? Will it allow me to dodge an attack?
No. Melee weapons will still be boring (even with the OP potential) in Fallout 4. Dodging will still be running as far as you can. Will it provide me with a lot of gratuitous nudity?
There are mods that remove the undergarment textures and replaces them with full nude textures. Some more textured than others in detail. You can also download a mod that will replace some of the generic posters and signs in the game with nude pin-ups. And I saw a mod called The Emperor's Clothes, that makes all clothes in the game invisible - so the whole game becomes something like a nudist commonwealth. Except power armor. Not that the latter means anything, but I was simply reminded of why I like games with less open-endedness and more storyline. Also, fuck Avallac'h.
While it doesn't matter - there are a ton of mods that give you nudity. As for Avallac'h, yes. He is a wretch of a being. But did your dislike for him come before or after the discovery of the laboratory.

That's nice, but I doubt there's as many brothels. If there's one thing I learned from the Witcher, it's that there's a brothel on every corner, apparently.

Before. He's a dick. I wanted to slit him up the middle. I'm pretty sure he banged Ciri, and forced her to have sex with others.
But, I digress.

True. And also probably true. At least in one instance I know of he tried to force her to have sex with the Aen Elle King.
As for brothels - why not make your own? Move all your female (or male) colonists to one location, build them a building with beds. Use the lightboxes to name it Porky's or something. Drop the trading post bar. Open for business. With a nude mod (or a lingerie mod there are those) you can make them worth spending bottle caps on.

I have yet to find a mod to make the game world (in the world-building sense) more interesting. Prettier, funnier, more realistic, but not more interesting. I'd like to try some of these out.
