"Women Directors worldwide found to be unavailable. Entirely. Completely. Not a single one. No, not even that one. Shut up. Stop bashing Joss, omg, he's the besssssssst."

You've found a woman that defends Joss Whedon! All my thoughts and opinions and arguments on the matter are now completely, utterly invalid. Oh nnnnnnnoooooooooeeeeeeessssss..!
P.S. That's from 2015, and not referring to this particular bit of news.

Ssssoooo.
The Wonder Woman movie.
I'm just going to eat crow about my original doubts concerning whether or not Gadot could carry the role well, because she fucking crushed it. This, in fact, is the first DC movie I will actually watch more than once in... a long time.
DC needed to pull a hail mary after those two bombs, and I don't know what satanic pact they drew up, but they did it.
And I am just giddy that it was Wonder Woman who basically saved the DCCU after years of Diane Nelson saying that making a movie about her was too hard.

SO GOOD.
I'll end up seeing it twice because I'm taking my dad for Father's Day. Really looking forward to it.
The trailer for Justice League did not make me particularly excited, even given how much I loved WW and Gal Gadot in the role, but ah well. I'll always have the DC Animated U.
-
@Vorpal That's just classic Hollywood. "We made shitty movies with shitty plots and terrible acting, but the reason they failed is because they were about <X>". See Batman Forever ('the public is tired of Batman'), Catwoman ('a female superhero?'), etc.
-
@Three-Eyed-Crow Well, Justice League was Snyder's work, and you can tell because it looks dreary and dark.
I am actually optimistic. Once Justice League passes by, we may have a Rebirth-esque feel to the DC movies, very much like Wonder Woman.
Johns was added to Justice League and I hear the reshoots and re-writes are orchestrated by him, so here's hoping...
And they've already announced a sequel to Wonder Woman. As long as we keep getting Patty and Gal on board, I'm all the way in.
-
@Vorpal I'm kind of holding out hope re: Justice League, if only because Aquaman and Flash seem to be quite antithesis to all the grimdark shit of the pre-Wonder Woman films.
-
@Cupcake Well, extensive re-shoots have been announced. I can't help but wonder if this is an attempt to purge the Snyder elements.
My heart goes out to the man in the wake of his horrible personal tragedy. Still, I don't think he was ever a good match for the DC universe. Or at least, for the trinity. I would love for him to direct a Constantine movie, or something along those lines.
-
@Vorpal They are not. They're because Snyder's daughter died, and he couldn't work for the time being, so Whedon was wrapping it up for them.
But it was already said not much would be changed, these are finishing touches and it'll very much be Snyder's film.
-
@Arkandel Then I probably will skip it and wait for the other Non-Snyder movies.
Though... I don't know. Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman made 15 minutes watchable out of Dawn of Justice. Maybe she'll make this bearable, too.

Spider-man: Homecoming was amazing.
