When I say 'fully sketched out,' I mean all the general structure I need. I don't dictate single path / end-game for plots (that way lies madness). Since it's Stargate, it's stuff like: planetary details, who/what the locals are, what the PCs will run into, and guidance (for myself) on potential outcomes for the various stages.

Perfect. You should totally app a char and run some PRPs. 😄

There's 5 characters on the roster right now. Granted, 4 are female.

I do have one guy I'm hoping to CG for the roster tonight or tomorrow.

People being exceptionally kind and helpful when I'm trying to get settled back in towards playing again after way too long away. I was anticipating a nightmare (and was already feeling a wee bit overwhelmed) and ended up with only a minor headache. Sometimes I forget how great the people I hang out with are.

ETA: Seriously, you guys are ducking awesome.

I'm enjoying running investigations during this break into already written clues. It has been like a gift to myself every Monday morning.

Also, they aren't exactly connected to what I want to know, but it is kinda what I feel like research really is. You read dozens of things that don't quite fit, but they are still interesting!

Finally, my /story bits have been fun for me to write. Since I don't think(?) staff points at a particular clue since the tag system came, they have kinda been like a mini-RP with myself.

I wanna give a shout out to @Seraphim73 for how much I appreciate his going through the combat config we have on SGM and identifying where the break points are. Neither @Paradox nor myself have configured FS3 combat before, so we absolutely missed some things.

I'd probably tear my hair out trying to find everything I missed. 😉

So thanks, man. It is so, so appreciated.

(And also ❤ to the players who have put up with 2 of the 3 combat scenes so far breaking.)

So I actually played for the first time in over a year today. And it was fine. I have so much dust I have to shake off, but I'll get there.

Also, it was wonderful to pitch my weird concept, get instant support for it and make it on the grid in under a day. Which is basically the exact opposite of the last ten or so games I played before I stopped mushing for a very long time. No arbitrary hoops, no 'exactly the same thing you said, but rephrase it to the way I like to say it', no 'Well, you can play that if you want but....' side-eye.

It's almost like people are running a game they want other people to play or something. Revolutionary concept in MUSHing, that.

I don't know who plays Laurent on SGM, but this is a shout out (love letter?) to her.

She proved me wrong on the idea of voluntelling a player to be first to pose in a PRP and in the most wonderful way. I was very hesitant about the concept, but she's now utilized it twice and it worked beautifully. She didn't just tell them to pose: she gave them the tools they need. She chose a different person each time and it came across more as a highlight of the player rather than putting them on the spot.

But really, thank you for putting proof to concept in regards to asking someone to be first to pose in a scene and adding in that facet of telling them what you want to see in the pose. It worked far, far better than I thought it would and I am happy to admit I was wrong in my hesitation.

Failing many, many rolls but hilariously passing one while your character is unconscious and you're away from the keys. 😄

Man that was SO MUCH FUN! I love Arx, I love the players are willing to try new things and jump in with enthusiasm. I love the fact that I can experiment with so many things and that there are so many receptive folks.

Tonight's event was ridiculous amounts of fun, and I hope that it is something I can try again sometime.

I have been having the best time lately. Between writing clues and running PrPs... I'm just really glad to be on this game.

@AeriaNyx You can't see it because I pretty much only write black journals at this point (when I remember to write them at all), but it's now been documented for the sake of history that the Riven laundress is going to give her a good what-for about getting bits of hay and goat-smell all over a velvet gown, and the Keatons are the only people worth that trouble. 😉

Players that not only tolerate when my GMed scenes get weird (because they always kinda do) but seem just as in to it as I am and roll with everything I throw at them. Players like this are the reason why I love GMing. You guys are awesome. If I could have kept you in the scene for a week, I would have.
