Pax's system is basically my favorite thing ever. I know just seeing the different things staff have come up with has completely delighted me, and I can't wait to see more people bump into them.

I for one am SUPER EXCITED to see what else is in store if shardhavens is just the first of many!! Exploration is great fun and I can't express how happy I am to see things being made to help people that want to do EXPLORATION! and ADVETUUUUUUURE! get to do just that.
-
I am much much much happier with the awkward 'So, uh, our characters hooked up in the past and I just wasn't sure how to approach it. It doesn't have to be anything moving forward through.' page
than someone jumping all over my character IC when I pick up a roster char.
Like, that's win. That's how you do it. Because I don't want to make you feel weird or even a bit sad if we RP together and I'm RPing as if we're meeting for the first time. I'd rather be able to hash it out (was it a one night stand? are they friendly? how long ago was it?) and see how we gel moving forward as RP partners.
You did good, whoever you are. I get that awkward page was awkward, but as far as picking up a roster char goes and having people with past (romantic) connections paging me... You did the best yet. Bravo.

Shardhavens are just the first part of exploration, yeah, and this is just the first phase of shardhavens; I have ideas for puzzles that work like the obstacle doors, but that reveal treasures/weapons when solved, or even let you find old forgotten lore (@clues). Plus, I still need to get the 'expedition' portion done, which will be what lets players get together a party, pay AP/resources to 'outfit' it, and then travel to a shardhaven.
(I should actually start a design thread about this, come to think.)

Seriously. This is making me so excited!! This is reminiscent to me of the first computers games I could play when I was younger. The original Prince of Persia, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego... SO STOKED to see how it all turns out and to fling my characters into it!

Staff that doesn't fuck around about cleaning house.

Where do you play, and can I join you?

I think you do already.
You logged out today seconds before I was RP_OK.
Or else it's just a big rumor that that's you.
-
I probably do. That place is getting so busy these days, I love it. It's almost like a World of Darkness game, except there's no drama, no supernatural things, and people actually like one another.

So... it's nothing like a World of Darkness game?

When your PC gets their Crowning Moment. If you could bottle that feeling, you could be a billionaire.
-
That moment when every thing goes sideways and you get to decide how you want to fall. swoons in happiness
-
When a scene goes totally off the rails because my m* bff forgot a really important thing about my character and everyone just...rolls with it and is amazing.
-
Ohoh,
I also love failing rolls. The Moos I played didn't have this (the only exception I ever encountered being Ansible's Battle Room, but even then, it was more a "missed shot" or some such.) and there was always the temptation to just be amazing always.
Now when I feel that temptation I do a roll and then act out the roll. The failing ones lead to wonderfully funny poses.

I kinda miss Ansible sometimes. If only because damnit I wanted to someday get through the whole giant puzzle thing.
And I never managed to make it to as many scheduled battles as I wanted.

So, there's a lot of assholes in this hobby. A lot of creeps. A lot of ridiculously hostile and probably mentally unwell people, too.
That's particularly why it's so nice to find a good friend to play with. Someone you can have IC conflict with and just know that at the end of the day, you and the person on the other side of the screen will be cool. Someone who is easy to talk to. Someone who will message you when they feel upset on an OOC level (even if their feelings might not make sense), because they know that you two can fix things, and go back to having fun in game.
They're practically unicorns, but they're there.
And I fucking love them.

Dozens might be a stretch, but you get what I'm saying.
