I remember Grimtooth's Traps. Man some of those things were just diabolical.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@Auspice That's kind of how I started. Less stress involved (though there was still stress) in my decision, but more it was the only time I got to see the sun. I worked in a basement, so the only way to get some natural light and fresh (as fresh as it gets in Hollywood anyway) air was to become a smoker.
Yes, I get the irony of 'getting' fresh air by picking up smoking.

RE: RL Anger
@Alamias you're also relatively new!
hand-waves New is relative. I was here at the start of MSB and also back on WORA, I was just on hiatus for a few years. But, I get what you are putting down.

RE: RL Anger
Just to toss my two cents in here where it isn't needed, I don't usually tend to give money to panhandlers. I DO however buy them food/drinks/other items they might need. Possibly purely selfish of me in the fact then at least I know that what I am donating is being used for the purpose intended, but it is my effort to help out instead of just handing cash out.

RE: Why We Don't Make New Friends Anymore (Or Creepers Do Creepy Things)
@Sunny I've only played a WoD LARP once at a con, and it was by far the most creepiest thing I have ever had the experience to witness. The amount of predatory behavior that was going on blew me away.
But at the same time, everyone there (save for me) seemed to be comfortable with and/or wanted it, and that made me even more uncomfortable. I noped out of there and never went to another one, ever.

I got about 6 new board games, 1 expansion to Gloomhaven, and a video game.

RE: Geeky Collections
This is just my office and what is immediately around me.
The drawers below are all filled with D&D Miniatures.
The grey figures are all ones I 3d printed.
This is just one bookshelf, mostly of RPG stuff. All my WOD Books are on the shelves at the bottom

RE: Geeky Collections
@TiredEwok It's not all mine, some of it belongs to my wife, but we are a very geeky household.
Our front door doormat reads "Home for wayward geeks."
I didn't even bother taking a pic of our two gaming tables....

RE: Geeky Collections
@Jaded I used to have one of the original Batman (Keaton) movie display stands, but that was back when I was in high school and had no idea about 'collections' like that. Sadly it is long gone.

Wait, what?! This needs a story!

@JinShei Yeah, I know. Stupid brain meats just like to fuck with me when it comes to things like this.

RE: Storytime! Embarrassment Edition
@Derp See, I don't have a story myself, but my buddy does. We all worked Ren Faire together, and he and his then girlfriend decided to have a good time. Tent walls are thin. When you have a light in the tent on, it creates some interesting shadow shows.
Long story short (too late) the lot of us lined up patio chairs in front of the tent, and held up score cards when they emerged after they were done. He took it in stride and laughed, she was as red as you could get.

RE: Storytime! Embarrassment Edition
@Grayson The part I left out about the whole scenario is that the reason there was such a bright light in the tent in the first place, is because they had a third friend in there filming the whole thing.

RE: The Work Thread
@Auspice I swear, if it ever snowed in So Cal (Not in the Mountains where you would expect it) I can't imagine the carnage and chaos it would bring.

RE: Critters!
Just an update. After a week of mingling the new puppy with the agro problem child, things seem to be ok! We took the week splitting time between the new puppy in her crate, and when the new puppy wasn't in her crate muzzling the agro dog to make sure no actual bites could happen.
Yesterday, they were both roaming free without any muzzle on the agro dog! It still a situation we are watching closely, and I don't think we will leave the new puppy out of her crate if we leave the house for a while yet 'just in case', but so far, so good.
Now if we can just get the new puppy to go outside to do her business. She knows about the dog door, and knows how to use it but nooo.. Still will do her thing in the house...lol.
