RL Peeve: being so drained of energy from work going into crunch time that I have nothing to MU* with. I can't even bother to play computer games ffs. I come home and listen to music and read books and then I sleep.

@Kitty-Kat I don't know you. I've never played on any of your games, but I have heard the name of Lilith spouted on here before in less than flattering light.

For what it is worth, it takes guts to come here and do what you did. I applaud you for not only taking the time to work on yourself, but to (wo)man up and take responsibility for previous actions. Good on you! I hope the new you finds happiness in what you seek.

    • RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)

Your stories of AD(H)D are so much worse than mine ever was. I mean, I was told I was an underachiever, that I was lazy and all that comes with ADHD from teachers all the time, but I at least had a supporting family.

They may not have known what was going on, and acted upon the information that the teachers gave, but they never belittled me or anything nearly as traumatic as the stories on here. They just pushed me to try and do better.

I feel for all of you.

This is the only active MUSH community forum I'm aware of, so like it or not IMHO it is a reflection of "the MUSH community".

If there are others, I'd love to know about them.

You folks are making me want to try this game, if/when I actually have a chance to RP again.

Come on @Ghost, if I can play again so can you!

      I hate getting sick.

I especially hate getting sick right after having to deal with rodents in the house since my stupid brain jumps to worst case scenario like Hantavirus or something equally as unlikely when in reality it is just likely a cold.

    • RE: Game of Thrones

I'd really like to see a well done Dresden Files show. The old one that was on Sci-Fi was ok, but (In my opinion) strayed just a bit to far off from the source material. If we could get one that stuck more to the books I think it would do well.

But that may just be me.

Most everything. The hyper-focus and getting pissed when I am broken out of it is way up there, but so is the not being able to focus on any one thing. I've also constantly have the 'I'm bored, but I can't choose something to do' cycle. It's gotten so bad at times it ends up being hours of me trying to find that one thing I want to do, but end up just having to go to bed since I have wasted so much time trying to pick that thing.

@Arkandel said in Where's your RP at?:

Telenuke. Especially the dreaded +job version; I despise it - especially when it happens between characters who've never interacted. It just takes the whole fun of playing out a nice, dramatic, gritty or whatever else kind of death.

      This. So much this.

I have been on the receiving end of this. While it was all perfectly on the up and up in terms of mechanics and also why I was targeted, it just sucks to log in and see a @mail that says "Rock fall, you die.". It doesn't really allow for any closure.

Character death is nothing new to me, and doesn't phase me much, but at least give me a death scene.

@Ghost I have the opposite problem where nothing is as spicy as it is made out to be/I want it. I am always asking to have things made extra hot and only once in a great while does it actually give me the amount of heat/spice I am looking for.

My family blames it on the fact my mom used to bast my crib in hot sauce because I would chew the wood on it. I started chewing on it more.

@Ganymede Honestly, it is the people that have brought me back again and again. I've been doing this just as long as you, and I have taken sabbaticals which sometimes last a couple of years, but the thing that has always brought me back are the people. I have had some really great friendships develop from my time on these games. Even years later I talk to some of the people I have met.

Sadly, I've also lost track of many of the people I used to play with. Sometimes I end up finding them again on places like this, or randomly elsewhere. Hell, I even found one once at a RL Job...that was a surprise.

So, yeah, I have to second Ganymede's comments in regards to the people.

@Alamias Hahaha. Ive often wondered if people like you (who can never seem to find spicy enough food) are like this because you've been conducting chemically corrosive warfare on your mouth all this time.

It's very possible. I will say that I have eaten things that didn't bother me going in, but coming out turned into a ring of fire...

    • RE: Roleplaying writing styles

I can be guilty of longer idle times between poses, even a one line pose, because I tend to play from work so I have to focus on that as the primary. However, I do let it be known before hand that I am playing from work, and will possibly have these idle times, to let people bow out of a scene if they think it will be a issue for them.

"I don't want to offend anyone, but...

This looks like shit, your design is shit, and you're shit. (Ok, paraphrased, but this is how it sounded to my ears)

But please, don't take offence or take it personally."

FML. I just want to go back to developing other people's web designs. This having to come up with the web app design sucks.
