I used to staff on on WC as well, tho for the life of me at the moment I can't remember my staff name. I played Dahlia and a few others. Good to see ol' WC faces.

RE: What's your nerd origin story?
It began one vacation to California back in the 90's when someone handed me a VtM book. I was hooked on the book alone, then she logged on and showed me a Mux. Being someone who always had wanted to be a writer for trade, I became quickly enamored. It kinda went from there. When I couldn't handle RL, there was always that escape into another world, if it was reading the books or making up stories with my companions.

RE: Python Tutorials?
I was poking around with Python for a little while. I have a small collection of notes, not composed by me but completely made to share if you use Evernote.
There is such a large mass of stuff online, it's hard to narrow it down. It really depends on how you learn. I have to see an example, take it apart, and put it back together before it really clicks for me.
I also have somehow enmassed a few ebooks I can share as well.

Crescent Moon Mux / New Orleans CoD Mux
Update: Because I heard you guys like blurbs. So I made one:
The wind, rain and general destruction that tore apart New Orleans in 2005 has passed. Left among those too stubborn to leave their homes, were the supernatural. First to bring fresh life into the waterlogged divisions of their homes, they encouraged their families and companions to join them. Also eager to participate in this influx were the upstart groups. Smaller in power but ambitious, they too moved to take their own piece of New Orleans. The playing field, was after all, washed clean but the places to settle were not endless. The vampires and their ghouls, the werewolves and the wolf blooded, pack and covenant all wanted their own piece of the historical city.
It's 2018 and the return of New Orleans as a tourist attraction has brought with it fresh faces and new money to the population of the Big Easy. The jazz and jambalaya once again flows through the streets, along with the tourists, and the alcohol. Tours have returned to the graveyards and haunted places, and with this return, a fair share of crime has been revived. Despite the occasional body that may jar the headlines of the local late news, New Orleans does not stagger. The rich heritage, the strong roots and a bit of magic keeps her strong.
Voodoo practitioners are known to give demonstrations that have been raved about in the "Things to Do While Visiting New Orleans" section of the local paper. Supplies for everything from Wicca, to Voodoo can be found, some only available, so the rumor goes, if you know who to ask. There is even word that you have to ask in code. For the lucky few, new local businesses thrive here, along with the well established places that are the backbone of the Quarter.
Welcome to Crescent Moon Mux. We are in the alpha stages of development. The end game is a Chronicles of Darkness game, set in the story rich city of New Orleans. The darkness has risen to power in the face of disaster, filling the power vacuum and bringing the supernatural society into power like they've never experienced before. They are the veins and life blood of New Orleans, unwilling to surrender the home they have now claimed.
Our grid is planned out to encompass all types of RP. There will be different types of social economic structures, from long established, grand homes to the revived apartments that offer you a view to die for. Speaking of the dead, we have vampire cgen done, along with ghoul. When we hit beta stage and are ready for people to begin logging on and breaking things, you guys will be first to know.
Gaming System: Chronicles of Darkness
Currently: Ghouls, Vampires and Humans
Planned: Werewolf and Wolfblooded
Place: New Orleans, Louisiana
Timeline: Current (2018)
XP: 2 - 3 +Reccs per week/per player
Wiki: Coming SoonThe grid is small. Right now, it’s undescribed. The Cgen is coded by a friend of mine. It is not yet complete.
Why this post? Because we want to start hiring staff, especially if you are a particular fan of the spheres listed. Want to be a sphere lead? Let us know. Have ideas for fluff to fill out our world? We need you. Want to help write theme files? We need you. We also need a Wiki person. We need people who want to desc the grid. We want people to start testing our c-gen and submitting jobs if you find a bug. Yes, we need all the things!
We are:
Dahlia, Styx @ Windy City
Helen @ The Reach
Adilia @ SerenityMux
Kat, Serenity @ Fallcoast
Popcorn @ Miami (Current)&
Kerberos, Matthew @ Windy City

Things I shouldn’t have to say: Be an adult, as in you must be 18 in RL and your character must be at least 18 ICly. No porn on the wiki, make sure everyone is legal to walk down the street, please. No overloaded pages with 10+ pictures. Keep the drama to a minimum and I won’t have to bring down the ban hammer. Thank you, drive through.

RE: SerenityMUSH - Discussion
Unpopular opinion, but kind of enjoyed the coded stuff. It gave more to the story.

@Ghost I think I was part of that scene. If it's the only I'm thinking of, it was freakin' hilarious.

RE: CoD Staffers Wanted
I didn't want to get all spammy, because I already posted here. To update, we have a wiki person who is currently working on getting things up and running, the vampire cgen is almost done and the builder is researching to give us awesome descs.

Builders
Builders wanted for partially finished NOLA grid. Our previous builder had to bow out and we need someone to finish the grid, possibly expand it if need be. Please and thank you.
What game you say? This game.

RE: SerenityMUSH - Discussion
@Jennkryst I always felt that part of the problem with SerenityMush was that the individual crews were how you got paid. If you didn't manage to join a crew, you were screwed for anything that required that shiny in-game money.

TinyFuge
So, I tried out Potato's linux version and didn't care for the fact that I had to leave a term window open for the entirety of using the program. It bugged me. It's also possible I was not opening it correctly. However... I digress.
Anyone know how to set up .tfrc for the following?
Setting up a world
highlighting incoming/outgoing pages
spawn chat windows
auto log by date -
+Watch Code?
I've found this one, one mushcode.com. This one is there as well. Is there one that people use more than others?
