I really love the freedom NPCs give me, the freedom to take more risks and to do it -for- players and their stories. When a mindset finally clicks, I feel brave and empowered and eager to take people on a journey that's rewarding for everyone involved but also true to character. And right now this is mostly preemptive, I'm still only just planning things, but watching it unfold as I understand more about the NPC I'm using is a cool feeling.

There's going to be so many more cats.
