@Tinuviel I can see the value in working customer service, really. I was a shrinking violet when I started, and not in a cute way. I've learned to manage time, multi-task, and collaborate effectively with others to expedite a process with several variables all vying to put a hammer in the works. I have heard it said before and I'm in fervent agreement with it: if teens all had this sort of job after finishing high school, even if only for half a year, they'd be better for it.

That said, it really does suck. The majority of customers are moronic, feel themselves entitled, and don't know what they want and so expect us to know for them. It is what it is.

Me:[taking orders in a drive-through because that's how life is sometimes]

Customer:[rolls up to the speaker, doesn't even wait a beat] Hello? Hellllooo?! HE--

Me: HI. How can I help you?

Customer: Yeah, give me just a minute.

@silverfox It's the difference between being family as opposed to guest in their minds; that's how I find my joy in it. I don't experience this as much with actual family, but I've a couple of friends that may as well be. It isn't the work itself I love, either, but their comfort and familiarity with my existing near them enough that I'm not someone to cater to. It's noice.

@Wretched Oh, jeez, yeah. I didn't even pay for my art program until early last year when Clip Studio Paint had a sale. Sixty or seventy? Nah, man.

Old artwork is awful and great at once, because you hate it for its mistakes but love it for its memories and love it again for the realization that your eye for these mistakes means you've grown and gotten better. It's a pretty swell feeling. Thanks for sharing your work, though!

@Wretched Oh, whoa, you have a way with creepy moods. Especially with the eyes. Milky white seems like it'd be more difficult than black and the hair seems like it'd be more difficult than both, so kudos on all of it lol. What program do you use?

As the youngest sib, I don't think I was that awful but man. Now I'm questioning everything. I was closer friends with the sibling seven years older than I was the one a year and a half older, so maybe we just had a really strange family dynamic and were equally awful together. That thought might help me sleep better at night, anyway.

When you give someone money, you put the loose change in their outstretched hand and then put the flat (not crumpled, folded in half, or presented as an origami bowtie) bills on top. You can even do it the other way around, with bills first and coins after.

Just please, please, please don't shove your sweaty, balled-up boob money into my hand and then let the coins cascade on top of my unwittingly closed fist (as to keep the titty dollars from blowing away).

It makes me really sad.

I don't really gun for relations IRL or IC, so in the past I've tried to play asexual characters either so off-putting or invested elsewhere that no one thinks to attempt bedding or "fixing" (massive ugh) them.

These days I don't care enough to actively dislike the idea, but if or when I do explore such RP, the genitalia of the characters won't matter. It would depend on whether or not I could stand writing with the mun regularly... also on the likelihood of their pulling/flicking one off at their keyboard, as that's not really my cup of tea. I'd hope they would at least have the decency to not make it obvious what they're doing, but I've been approached about TS in a pretty OOC-oriented way before so I wouldn't be surprised.

Sex/romance is just another aspect of a relationship that can be used as a vehicle for story and character-growth; it's nothing more and nothing less. I've realized that outright discarding it may be putting a damper on potential storylines with others, so I might put my oar in eventually. I appreciate this thread for letting me know in detail what to expect if or when I get around to it, lol.
