So when people say that things are "back to normal", I honestly don't know what the fuck they're talking about. What is the phrase for feeling like you're being gaslit by 300 million people?
Capitalism.
I'll say this, informed by but not exclusive to my leftist bent: the situation is not back to normal. But the attitudes of your bosses? They absolutely are.

I was worried my kids were acting much the same way but they've started perking up a lot more. So I think I will thaw out more too eventually.
Kids are resilient, but keep an eye out for unusual behavior that lingers. I'm not trying to be an alarmist or say YOUR KIDS NEED THERAPY, but this has been tough on everyone, and psychological stuff is a lot easier to nip in the bud if you can catch it.
This applies to the rest of y'all, too, no matter your age. If your situation allows for it, I'd really strongly recommend seeing a counselor/lcsw/therapist for a couple of sessions just to let it out. And if you start displaying serious psychological symptoms, do everything you can to get help. Trauma is insidious.
Take care of yourselves.
That's because practically everyone has experienced a serious trauma event, and capital is doing its level best to pretend that everyone is fine. You aren't alone.
I may have moved my first day to Monday after sitting in a dazed and horrified stupor all of yesterday
Well I had my intake for intensive outpatient therapy yesterday and it was horrible and I go in for my next session tomorrow and I'm nervous and unhappy
So that's fun
Yes, there's no state without the gewaltmonopol. I think the solution is to allow for the proliferation of collectives of various sizes, with the primary (perhaps sole) use of violence reserved for protecting individual rights, chief among them the right to move freely.
ETA: direct democracy is about as far from anarchism as you can get tbh
It's worth noting that there are anarchists (frequently ancoms) who are against statism entirely.
I got to do a super cool thing and also be a prickly cactus of a doctor
Ty herja and crawfish for doing so much and putting up with so much from all of us! It was an incredible event, and I'm looking forward to seeing the results unfold
As well as finding out what cardians were doing on our side
When you see a few people so you wander over and it's an event and they're cheerful and nice and welcoming and there's possibly a little pinch of magic stuff going on everything is just extremely chill and you have a very pleasant time.
Scenes like this are why I love Arx so much.

If we're going to be super pedantic, he's a Battenberg. He's Mountbatten, she's Windsor, and their male children have the hyphenate Mountbatten-Windsor. Not sure what Anne got as her surname.
But really they're both Gothe-Saxe-Coburg or some shit.
look if you're gonna move into a lady's really nice house and get all her fancy stuff you can take her last name
I don't make the rules
(I do make the rules)
super pedantically, are there actually rules? My understanding was that though they belong to houses, the royals do not have surnames.
Jessica Walter, most recently of Arrested Development and Archer fame.

It's been interesting watching my other universalist friends on Twitter today
Universalist? I only know that word as a religious term, but it sounds like you mean it politically?
No, I mean it religiously. Lots of purgatory being discussed on the TL
